This review is from: The Royal Marriage (Harlequin Presents) (Mass Market Paperback)
If you want a smooth, bland, totally undemanding romance, read this book. You probably won't care about the characters, but you probably won't hate them either. It will cream you along smoothly and easily. It's competently written in its own undemanding way, just very unengaging. She does the royalty bit very well, and the scenes in Brazil, and the hero is not the brutish type, though there are a couple of tacky moments (he gropes her under the table during a meal - yuk), but otherwise the sex is nicely done, if not very dramatic. The heroine is very young, a teenager, and he is 30 something, and she also has been used to men dancing around her. Neither characteristics appeal to me. There's nothing much to upset you in this book, but nothing much to keep your reading it. Almost zero emotional passion.
On the plus side an easy read. On the minus side very unexciting. It's quite well plotted. |
