A romance to savor!!, November 13, 2001

Prince Michel Charles Phillippe Dumont of Marceau, a widower, needs a suitable wife. A woman with a soft voice and a quiet personality which reflects grace, discretion, respect, knowledge and understanding of royal protocol. Although he holds the second highest position in the country and is the one to make all the decisions concerning the welfare of Marceau, his mother, Queen Anna Catherine will only give up the crown to Prince Michel after he takes a wife. Michel also needs a tutor for his young son, Prince Maximillian, who suffers from dyslexia. As the future ruler of Marceau, Max must be tutored and groomed with responsibility and great care so that he is capable of fulfilling that role. It is arranged for a teacher with impeccable credentials to arrive from the United States to instruct the reluctant and very discouraged boy. Both royal Princes have no inkling just how drastically their quiet, reserved and very formal lives are about to change.
From the moment she arrives, Maggie Gillian causes a commotion in the royal palace. When she agreed to the position as tutor, Maggie wasn't aware she would be teaching a seven-year old Prince! In fact, Maggie is certain on her very first day that she's not the right girl for this job. She has no time or understanding of royal protocol or any of the fussiness that goes with it. However, before she realizes it, both Princes, father and son, are deeply entrenched within her heart. Not one to be impressed by titles or wealth, Maggie looks behind the `formal façade' and into their soul. There is no denying the tender and protective feelings she has for young Max or the sweltering attraction she feels for Prince Michel. The temptation to give into the sultry passion he promises is very strong but what sort of future can Maggie possibly hope for from a man who, first and foremost, will always belong to the people of his country?
ROYAL DAD by Leanne Banks is the first novel in her new and compelling series called The Royal Dumonts. This is definitely a romance to savor - it's a tale that will surprise you at every turn. Ms. Banks has crafted a love story that cannot be easily dismissed for it is full of erotic sensuality, heartwarming emotions, exquisitely defined characters and a wonderful blend of humor.
Maggie is pure delight. She is the exact opposite of what Michel thinks he wants in a wife. Vivacious, funny, charming, adventurous, protective and defiant - to an extent - Maggie is exactly what he `needs'. She is definitely more than a handful for the quiet, reserved and dignified ROYAL DAD, and watching him fall hook line and sinker for this lovely woman was truly a pleasure. Michel is a man with many heavy burdens on his broad and capable shoulders, constantly surrounded by advisors, and yet, he's lonely. He knows he has a responsibility towards his people and his country, one of which includes taking a wife who is suited to being a ruler's wife. However, the moment he lays eyes on Maggie, everything changes.
The secondary characters, including Max, Francios, the Queen, Dr. Nick and even the small yet sweet Elvis, were all outstanding and I had great fun meeting them. Ms. Banks expertly combines the steaming sensuality and erotic emotions simmering between Maggie and Michel to create an explosion that is sure to leave readers wanting more! The plot moves along at a fast pace, keeping the reader totally engrossed throughout the story.
Leanne Banks is an author you can count on to deliver romances with strong emotional impact, intense sensuality and a delightful sense of humor. ROYAL DAD will leave readers hungry for more richly entertaining novels by Ms. Banks.

'The King and I' revamped., March 13, 2011
This tale bares a close resemblance to ' The King and I' movie. The names have been changed to protect the author. Anna has been dubbed as Madamoiselle Gillian, a dyslexic, american teacher/tutor, who specializes in dyslexia. While the King of Siam takes on a lesser role of Crown Prince of Marceau, Michel, who is also a widower with a seven year old, dyslexic, lonely son named Max.
A great but hackneyed romance story plot. Of course Gillian marries the Prince and Max's dyslexia problem is resolved in six weeks. Max also gets to keep the beagle, Elvis.
