If you have a 6 speed (NSG370) TJ or JK Wrangler, you should switch to this as soon as possible. You will get smoother shifting, and less metal shavings (wear) stuck to the magnetic drain plug. Been running this in my Wrangler for 30,000 miles now. It's as easy as an oil change. You need 14mm and 17mm hex sockets. One is for the drain plug and one is for the fill plug. You can squirt it in the tranny using the bottle. When it starts oozing out of the fill hole, you can put the plug back in. You'll need 2 bottles (1.6 liters).
Don't forget to also change your diff fluid regularly (every 2-4 oil changes). If you're lazy you can just pump the old fluid out, but I recommend taking the diff cover off and doing a thorough cleaning with some brake cleaner, towel, etc. To do that you need four liters of Mobile 1 75w90. Remove the diff cover bolts, then hit it with a soft hammer (rubber/plastic) until it falls off. Use a razor to scrape the old gasket material off of the diff and diff cover. Be careful not to scrap the metal. Clean everything well with some brake cleaner. Squirt a nice bead of black gasket maker around the diff cover, then reinstall it. Tighten in a star pattern to get a uniform seating. Don't overtighten it. Allow it to dry, then fill it just like you did with the tranny. You might need a small pump though if your Jeep isn't lifted enough.

Love RP products.
Used this fluid in my tranny for my supra and it shifts smooth and works great. Im about to drain the fluid after about a year of track and drifting. Ill be updating as to what I find. Im have been very happy with the product the last 2 times I used it. Highly recommended.

At the advice of BMW enthusiasts and Royal Purple, I am running this in my 2000 E39 528i 5 speed manual. After 500 miles the shifts continue to become increasingly smoother. This was the perfect compliment to the short throw shifter. Highly recommended!

Just swapped out the gunk that BMW calls transmission fluid for the Royal Purple in my 1997 M3 Manual. I thought I needed to rebuild the transmission, but instead all I needed was to replace the fluid. Definitely recommended!

I heard that the Royal Purple 01512 could be used as a less expensive alternative to the outrageously expensive Versatrak fluid. 1 year after replacing the original differential in my 2003 Chevy Venture with a used junkyard one, differential #2 was groaning worse and worse on even slight turns, even after I put in new Versatrak fluid twice and drove in alternating circles until I was dizzy (like you are supposed to do to work the fluid into the clutch packs). Still the groaning from the differential, and now from me as well.
Another used differential would cost $600 to $1200 dollars and the local Chevy dealer wanted $4300.00 plus labor for a new differential since they claimed they couldn't get a rebuild kit. So I figured "what have I got to lose?" and I tried the Royal Purple. After putting in the fluid, I believe I probably set a new world record for driving a versatrak GM junker in circles: I drove in right and left circles for three minute per direction, never stopping until 45 minutes had passed. Needless to say, I did not eat for the next 24 hours. Tip: I used the "spinning dancer" head turn trick each half turn to reduce dizziness. After about 30 minutes (long after I had lost hope) the groaning actually began to lessen, and then--it finally went away after about 40 minutes! But the groan came back after the differential cooled down (but it was only half as loud now). Undaunted, I began the "circling" process again. This time it only took 20 minutes to get rid of the groan. The next day, the groan was back again, but now barely perceptible. 10 minutes of alternating circles this time until silence was achieved. Now, after a week, the groan is still all but gone: only slightly audible on only the sharpest of turns. But I must have worn about 20 percent of the tread off the front tires with the endless circling- and the looks from people! So was it the fluid that helped, or my endless parking-lot circling? The world may never know, but I still heartily recommend the purplemax fluid for a versatrak differential, especially if you become as desperate as I was. P.S. I am going to trade in my Venture before the noise comes back again!

I've been experimenting with various transmission fluids in a 2001 BMW 325xi with approximately 130k miles on it. This fluid works better than Redline D4 ATF, but not as good as the original BMW lifetime fluid. With the original BMW fluid, I did not notice any rough shifts from 1st to 2nd. With the Redline D4 ATF rough shifting was more pronounced. With The Royal Purple Synchromax, it is just barely there. It should be noted that the rough shifts are more a product of my transmission being 10 years old, and not these fluids being inadequate. The reason the original BMW fluid worked best (I would guess) is because it had a higher coefficient of friction (from being old) which allowed the synchros to match gear speed quicker. These new fluids that I've tried are all just too slippery. I should say though, that it is only 1st to 2nd that is a little rough, all other shifts are flawless so I would say that this is an excellent fluid, especially for newer vehicles. If you've got a little rough shifting from old age, I'd look for something with a better coefficient of friction. The next thing I'm trying is Redline's 75W140NS which does NOT have friction modifiers in it (which makes it less slippery).

What ever you do, DO NOT spill this while you're filling your trans! If you do make sure you wipe it up completely. This oil has a TERRIBLE smell and when it gets hot it gets worse. Google 'royal purple Synchromax smell'. I'm thinking of changing back to GM stuff, can't get rid of the odor inside the car.

I installed this in my BMW 528 5-speed manual. The transmission went from EXTREMELY "notchy" to an enjoyable smooth notchy. I will use this product again and definitely recommend it.
