This review is from: Royal Purple 01520 SAE 5W20 Engine Oil - 1 Quart (Automotive)
Good price, not the best, but I love doing my business with Amazon and its merchants. When it comes to oil everyone has their favorite, Royal Purple is tried and true, it has yet to let me down. Will buy again, also it came well packaged and in air tight bags.

I use Royal Purple in my 2002 Ford F150 and my 2008 Dodge Charger. It keeps my engine clean and helps to add a little more horse power under the hood.

A "feel good" oil, but way too pricey for average drivers and not much difference over other synthetic brands,
This review is from: Royal Purple 01520 SAE 5W20 Engine Oil - 1 Quart (Automotive)
This oil price has sky rocketed!! Actually, all synthetic oils have gone up by a good percentage. I used to buy 5 quart jugs for 20 bucks. Now they cost 28 for the same jug, only after one year. It's crazy how much oil has gone up, so if you are an average driver, this oil is totally unnecessary. I have used this oil for several changes, and from my experience, no major difference over other synthetic brands such as Mobil 1, Castrol, and Valvoline. The only reason why I purchased royal purple was because someone recommended it, but it always cost a little more than the other brands, which i did not like. It used to be 6 a quart, now it's 9 a quart. Oil is skyrocketing in prices in this crap economy.Anyways, no major differences. I stopped buying royal purple because it was the most expensive oil on the market, and it does not save you money in the long run nor does it make your car have "more horsepower." ROFL to that marketing technique. The only good thing about royal purple is that it is a cool purple color which is unique, and you feel good knowing there is expensive oil in your engine. That's about it, it just makes you feel a little better. Performance-wise, it's just as good as other synthetic brands. If i am rich, I would buy this oil for my changes every time. My favorite oil to use is Valvoline synthetic. I would choose it over Castrol and then Mobil 1. They all feel pretty much the same. OBVIOUSLY a fresh oil change makes it immediately feel better, but after about 500 miles, all engines lose that fresh feel and it's back to black oil with contaminants. Also, don't listen to the concept that you can change your oil less often with this stuff. Lot of products and new cars advertise this, but it's not really a perk. I still changed my oil after 3-4k, and the oil always looked the same as old oil, black. No car feels good driving when you know you are past 3000 miles, even if it says in the manual that you can drive 6-7k with newer cars. If you are a baller, you could use this oil every oil change. If you love downshifting and revving your engine daily, then you could use this oil. If you just drive to work daily and never gun it, you definitely do not need this, nor any other synthetic oils.
