This scale is not really "PRO" per se. Got this exact model for $50 at Sammy's club, but, it isn't very accurate.

It claims a resolution of 1.6 ounces, but when I place 6+ ounces on it, it registers as ZERO! I am very good with technology and tried everything like re-taring it while it was empty, etc., but nothing worked :( I also called their support and did get to talk to a real person in India, but the reply I got was to take the batteries out, wait 10 minutes, and then put them back ;( Big surprise, it didn't work. I guess it's pretty hard for tech support when they know they are dealing with a product that just WON'T measure accurately by design. No amount of Indian tech support can fix the broken products that these out-of-touch companies churn out.

You have to be kidding me. That is the response I was given when I called customer support in India as to WHY my scale would not power up with the batteries or adapter. I asked her why it would make a difference and if each unit had to be started this way. She said yes so I asked her why that wasn't in the instructions and she had no answer. I was Highly doubtful that taking the batteries out had anything to do as to why the unit would not power up. I was correct in my assumptions. Remote looks perfect!

It's heading back to Sam's Club tonight, just a few hours after purchase for $50.

Bought this scale from the local Sam's club. It is completely inaccurate. I just started doing ebay selling of smaller items. This scale will not accurately read any small item. Even for items in the one pound -threeo pound weight, it gives inaccurate measurements. I've tried putting items on, taking them off, and putting them back on simultaneously. One time it will tell me the item is 3 pounds, then 2 pounds, then it won't read it at all, then it might be over 3 pounds again. Not only that, every time you weigh something, there is a very annoying loud beep before you put the item on the scale, when the item is weighed, and then after you take the item off the scale. My kids are screaming for me to make it stop. Well I am...it's going back to the local Sams. Only hope they will accept the return since I purchased it several months ago.

I experienced the same issue with the scale. unless I placed heavy items of at least 40 pounds on the scale, it would not activate. I certainly won't register a small package of 3 or 4 pounds. Going back to Sam's as well.

I bought one of these from Sam's Club for $50 and lost the display unit.
I found them on clearance same place for $32 and got another. The 2nd one is still in the box, the 1st is in use for Amazon and eBay sales. It's not a legal shipping grade scale, but it seems to get me in the ballpark. The surface you place it on seems to matter, a hard flat surface works best. It can vary on weights, in my case only a few ounces. I might put something on and it will say 11.60, the a 2nd time the same item might register 11.10 (then it might go back to 11.60). I have a Dymo scale I bought for $15 that does my under 5 lbs work. I use this one for larger boxes and to weigh myself from time to time. I didn't have any power problem except I broke the power adapter and have been running both the scale and display on batteries. In the past I had been using rechargeables for the display. Those and Alkaline don't seem to last more than a month or so in the display, about the same on the scale. My experience hasn't been as bad as some I've read here, but I wouldn't say I'm completely satisfied with the accuracy. I will probably visit a state auction and see if I can get a hospital scale cheap. Till then or till the 2 of these I have give out, I'll stick with them.

This would be an absolutely killer scale if it actually worked right. I am a very satisfied user of the older Royal ex310 shipping scale, so I expected the DSS Pro - which is basically the ex310 with wireless display and 100 pounds more capacity - to perform at least as well and hopefully better. The ex310 is accurate and repeatable, the DSS Pro is neither. My first gripe is that it does not give consistent, repeatable measurements no matter what. Weighing the same item 3 times gives 3 very different weights, sometimes pounds apart. At first I thought wireless interference might cause problems so I moved the scale around. The problem was particularly bad when operating under florescent lights and improved somewhat in other locations, but never quite went away. Sorry but I need accuracy and repeatability on my terms so the DSS Pro was definitely not a keeper. It went back the next day. That was eight months ago. Picked up another one the other day hoping the first experience was just a fluke. Nope... it had the very same problems. And that's a shame because the scale does have good design features. But performance-wise, there is nothing "Pro" about this scale. I'll stick with my old ex310 thank you.
UPDATE 2/4/14: ex310 still going strong!

Reasonably priced. Works fine. Our shipping department goes through a couple of these a year. When these go bad, we will buy more.

I am having the same issue as everyone else. I called tech support and got some dud from India and said to take out the batteries and wait 10 minutes. He said that if it doesn't work call back. It didn't call back because more than likely he would say take out the batteries for 15 minutes. A real joke for tech support. This is my second one as I took back the first saying it was defective. Yep.. the second one was defective as well. Maybe they are worn out after being built and packaged. Anyway, don't waste your money on this piece of junk.
