4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting little yarn in the "Harem" genre, July 14, 2001

This review is from: Royal Slave (Paperback)
Royal Slave is the story of Cassia O'claire a red headed Penthouse Pet of the 18th century who is the object of lust for several men...as is usual in novels of this type, she only has love for one, vincent Sauvage, the very man to sell her into sexual slavery in the far east...the book is well researched and poor Cassia is never spared from the lust of the older men who want her. The Grand turk of Algiers, Hamid is old enough to be her grandfather, yet he beds her and tries in vain to impregnate her. She is then rescued by the very man who sold her and rejoins him in the end...the writing is not as sexually explicit as "Savage Sands" which ironically was published the same year, 1978, and the artwork on the cover is not as well drawn, but...the 2 novels are very similar in nature down to the artwork on the paperback which shows Cassia with Vincent and then the back shows the old Hamid, exactly like "Savage Sands." Still, love novels of the Harem genre are few and far between, and this is a good read...recommended.
