This is a magnificent comforter. Second from the top of the Royal Velvet line (there's about seven models) with Gold being top but unavailable when I was shopping. It's good to compare the whole line though, and see just how much down and thread count you need because the $$ range is wide. They have a model for every taste, it seems.

I gave it as a gift and when the recipient called to thank me, she could hardly find the right words, just made happy noises and burbled about how beautiful and warm it is. Two days later she said she's sleeping so much better that she can hardly stand to get up in the morning.

I'd get one myself, but it's just too warm for San Francisco. For the midwest and east, though, it's ideal. Throw away your electric blanket before it gives you cancer (maybe) and slide under this instead.

I originally took a look at this when it showed up and thought it was lovely. The high thread count cover is dazzling. However after trying it for a few nights I noticed that the large majority of the feathers were all hanging off the edge of the bed and that the center panels were nearly empty and some were empty. It was definately some sort of bad manufacturing. So look closely at the feather distribution. It sounds as if most others are getting a good product. I have sent mine back and tried ordering a different model (same company) that also has really good reviews. I will check it carefully this time though and not be impressed too much with the cover and the very puffy edges.

I purchased the Royal Velvet Silver Elegance Hungarian white goose down comforter in January 2008 and looked forward to a quality product. This oversized comforter hangs over the edge of the bed so that you have full coverage. HOWEVER...the down all goes to the end of the comforter and most of it is hanging over the end or side of the bed. I shake and shake it to get the down to distribute properly but it won't stay. I'm almost ready to burn it, but it cost a lot so I am stuck tussling with it every night. I say Don't Buy This Product.

I recieved this comforter as a birthday gift...and I absolutly love it! The outer cover is very well crafted...clearly there was a lot of work put into this comforter to make it last for a long time. The outer cover is also sooo soft! I have 1000 count sheets at home and they definetly don't feel as soft as these do. It fluffs up so nicely too! I live in a small island town off the coast of maine...and it is incredibly warm...but durring the warm summer nights it isn't too hot...it's just right for all Maine weather. Would reccomend to anyone and thinking of buying another one!

My review is from a male perspective, two weeks ago I did not know that a Duvet existed now I know that you better get the right size. The comforter is esthetically very nice and has fluffed up well. I bought another one from J.C. Penny at a higher cost and less fill and it was ugly, I had to purchase it because my dog eat my other comforter. I returned it to J.C. Penny. For what it is worth after looking at these comforters for a few weeks and getting one or two that I was not happy with, this one was all that I expected. It looks good, fluffed up well and has a fifteen year warranty if you have it in a Duvet. My dog does not seem to like it's taste but it is hard to get him off it, he loves it, an important factor for me.

Update: We have now had some somewhat cool nights in Texas in the 30's and I am as warm as toast. Well worth the price! If you get some tarp clips and sew them into the Duvet you can clip the comforter into the Duvet and it works great in keeping it where you want it, just an observation. I would not hesitate in another purchase from "Royal Velvet" the quality and the appearance are worth the price. I have to keep the door closed to keep my doberman off if and he has access to the other rooms just a lot of class. He likes the quality and the softness, not to mention the warmth. Go figure. People 1, Doberman 2. Not to mention that I have lowered the heat at night so the comforter is cost wise free since I am as warm or warmer than before, not a bad investment.

I did a load of research before settling into this comfy comforter. Pretty warm and got it when San Francisco got its first cold front for the winter. As cold as it's been for this city, I only need to pull a light wool blanket over to keep it perfectly warm. (I sleep warm and like lots of blankets on me) If you're sleeping with someone else, you won't even need the extra blanket. The reason I didn't give it a straight five stars is because I thought it'd sleep so warm that I wouldn't need the extra blanket. It could be me, who knows?! But I dooooo loVe this thing! It's like sleeping in a cloud. Go invest and pick yourself one of these babies!

warm as I hoped in winter.

While this was a comfortable comforter, small feathers come out in flurries, making for a very dusty and allergic environment. I got rid of this thing today (about 6 months after I bought it) and replaced it with a synthetic down comforter.

I was pretty happy with this comforter when I just got it. It fluffed up well, and it's really soft and comfy. I didn't give it 5-star, because I found the feathers started flying out the comforter few weeks later, and the feathers didn't stay in their original "baffled box" as claimed, so the down is not evenly distributed now, some spots are almost empty. But I still think it worths the investment after I spent the cooler than normal Winter & Spring with it.

This Goose Down Comforter is fantastic. It makes sleeping such a comfortable experience. The quality is excellent! I would recommend it to anyone contemplating a down cover.
