This is a nice low-fill down pillow for the money. It's probably designed for stomach sleepers or others who want a thinner, flatter pillow. Others will be disappointed ... look at one of the other pillows, there are others in this line - search on Royal Velvet Goose Down.

They come with a fairly nice pillow cover, which is essential and saves you having to buy them.

Didn't notice any smell.

These are real down pillows, not feather pillows. Down pillows are much softer than feather pillows. And they don't poke you with quills.

We sleep with 8 to 10 down pillows on our bed (it varies because the kids are always stealing our pillows).

If you are the type of person who likes to snuggle into a big, soft, fluffy nest when you go to bed, pure down pillows like these are what you want.

I picked up a pair during Amazon's Friday sale for less than twenty bucks each. I wish I'd ordered more.

It's a pretty good down pillow. It's well filled and doesn't feel too low to me.

The label on the pillow itself states minimum 75% down, but I couldn't feel any feathers, so the down quality is decent.

The cover is nice and it doesn't smell more then any other new down pillow. The pillow is machine washable, so you can wash it to get rid of smell faster.

I got these for a steal at only $19.98 on one of Amazon's Friday sales. No problems with these pillows, in fact they seem to be made quite well. It is true that these pillows dont have much fill but that is clearly mentioned in the item description. The lesser fill makes it easier to squish and mush these pillows how you want them, which I like to do when getting comfortable. And as for the "smell of geese" that others mention in their reviews, its non-existent... they smell like normal pillows.

It is incredible to get this quality of pillow for the price. I bought the original 4 in a buy 3 get 1 free deal. Then I later purchased 4 more for my family and then again 4 more for myself and my friends. When they first arrived they had a bit of an odor but this disappeared within 24 hours of being out of the bag. I highly recommend these pillows for the price.

I bought this pillow as I always sleep on feather pillows. For the price I would not consider this a good value. While it is soft, once you you put your head on it to sleep, it's less than 2" thick and not comfortable. I paid $28.99 for it, wish I had paid less. Lands End is a better item for the price, this was disappointing.

I purchased 4 of these pillows after sleeping on a set of down pillows at Double Tree Inn. However, I must say, I almost sent these pillows back to Amazon due to the smell. The only reason I didn't was because we went on a two-week honeymoon.

Yes friends, the pillows smelled of geese. And I don't mean those pretty white geese you see floating in your local lake. No, these smelled of dirty squawking Canadian geese.

I know, you are probably thinking, 'Oh c'mon, I've had down before. Down smells of down.'

Well, I've had down before too. Down blankets, down blankets, even a feather bed. The smell from these pillows was much stronger than any of the above. To the poster below, no, it isn't chemicals, but the strongest down smell I've ever smelled in my life.

The good news is that the 'down' smell has died down after a couple of weeks. I'm glad I stuck with the pillows because they are some of the softest, most comfortable pillows I've ever laid my head on. However, like any down pillow, they will flatten when you lay on them. It's called cushion. You will need two of these pillows per person. I'm a two-pillow sleeper anyway and I'm okay with two of these down pillows, but I secretly want three. Maybe next year I'll pick up a couple more of these wonderful pillows.... and have them delivered BEFORE I go on vacation.

The down pillow is low and perfect for some side and stomach sleepers. The 16oz. fill seems to be standard for average down pillows. This pillow is just above average. The cotton Royal Velvet monogrammed cover is too stiff. I will try to wash it to soften or just use other pillow covers.

If you need a new down pillow buy this one when it is on sale.

I got 4 for 3 pillows promotional dicounts for these pillows with 29.99 price each. the pillows does smell like geese. I had to put the pillows outside to be exposed to the sun light. The smell was gone after that.

Amazon's retail prices are misleading and most often they are listed much more than actual retail price. Please research carefully for what you are buying. I will not recommand anybody to buy products online unless you have seen and felt the products yourself. except for the new electronic.

Overall, I recommand anybody who like low soft pillow. I don't feel ripped off for buying this pillow. except for the smell, I am pretty happy with the pillows. I also noted that there is no where in product description mentioned "goose down" but it does smell like geese.

As some of the other reviews have said.....if you're looking for a thick, fluffy pillow, this is NOT the one for you. It works for me ..... I've had surgery on my neck and I can mold it exactly as I need it so the low loft is good for me. Hope this is helpful because there's no sense in wasting $27 if you don't have to!
