The lamp is really quality and looks nice. I was trying to find something kind of "natural looking " and casual for my living room. But The shade is actually a spandex / cotton blend material that slips over a wire frame. It has elastic on the edges like a bed sheet. If it lost it's elasticity, you'd have to get a new shade. But that leads to another problem, the light bulb is enclosed in this glass globe, thing. I don't know if you could find another shade for it b/c of that weird structure. I returned it.
