These lights are great. They are much larger than the average string lights you would buy in a local store. The bulbs are nightlite size as opposed to little christmas sized lights. Take note, the length given includes all wiring (you need to take into account the length you will get that has no lights). Two sets would have been sufficient for the length of my deck but I had to order four sets for the actual length of lights. BTW: Royce is the best outdoor lighting manufacturer. I have Royce outdoor floor lamps and three outdoor chandeliers for a number of years. They still work and look beautiful. Great quality compared to other outdoor brands I have purchased in the past.

Great looking lights, ambience is great, lantern spacing not the same as represented in photo.

The lantern lights are awesome looking. They give off a pleasant yellow glow. I received a lot of good comments on them at my patio dinners. I didn't give the lantern light string 5 stars because the lantern spacing is not the same as pictured. The lights are very close together on the string and there is a very long length of cord between the plug and the first lantern. This posed a problem when I connected 4 strings of lights together. I bundled up the long length of cord and tied it so there wasn't a long space of no lights. When I did this, the lantern spacing was consistent, but it drastically cut down the length of lights I had available for lighting the patio. Also, you can not "slide" the lights down the cord to make the spacing even and adequate for your lighting needs. If I would have known about this problem before I purchased the lights, I would have found another product to buy.

Background: Needed some light on the side of the boat, as the finger pier she sits at is quite dark. Wanted something to hang on the lifelines that wouldn't offend the rest of the dock residents.
I bought a string of these, liked them so well, I bought 2 more. They do a great job of lighting up the dock when suspended on the lifeline (I bought brass S hooks and attached them to each of the lanterns, the top of the S hooks to the lifeline - easy on, easy off!)
Pros: Really very nice looking and quite bright - they are 7 watt Christmas bulbs. Perfect for the application. I'm going to buy a couple more strings for our back porch.
Cons: I dropped one of the lantern bases in the drink (fished it out.. ohh, the muck of the ages down there 8' below...) and it was because the tabs that attach it were not bent enough to 'snug it down'. Fixed that issue and all is safe now. Can't really call this a negative, but there is a lot of cord on the plug end. Probably 5 - 6 feet, thus the picture is not accurate. I'm going to cut out the extra cord between the strings and shrink wrap the splice. Should work fine.
Anyway, I really like these, and as I said, will buy a couple more strings.

Strands are too short
Nice quality, no issues there. Unquestionably the lights are too close together leaving you a very short strand especially for the cost. Four strands is some serious money.

Regardless of any review you might read elswhere, these are great lights. Other reviews indicate they have long cords on the front and back of the lights. Read more
