Product Description

The Rub Rabbits! is a sequel of sorts to the popular DS game, Feel The Magic. Just like in the last one, you'll be challenged to get the attention of your dream girl. There are all-new games and obstacles to face and you try to catch her eye: Toss "love disks" at her, serenade her on the piano, unicycle on a rooftop, and beat the rivals for her attention. Just make sure the girl who wants YOU doesn't screw up your plans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Where do babies come from? Seriously, where?, February 18, 2006
By
Kit (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Rub Rabbits (Video Game)
Ah, Rub Rabbits, how I love thee. As if the original "Feel The Magic" wasn't wacky and goofy enough, "The Rub Rabbits" not only brings back the charm and hilarity of the first game, but expands upon 'em like you wouldn't believe. "Feel The Magic" lacked a multi-player mode -- "Rub Rabbit" has it. "Feel The Magic" didn't have enough options in Maniac mode -- check out "Rub Rabbits" for it, and customize your girl to your heart's content. Basically, everything that was an issue or had the potential to be an issue have been addressed here, in typical "Feel The Magic" fashion.

Of course, you'll hear some folks complain that "Rub Rabbits" is more of the same, and hey, they're right. However, this is a good thing -- I can't think of a single thing that "Rub Rabbits" brought back that isn't an improvement over the original. Sure, a couple of the mini-games are eeriely similar to their "Feel The Magic" counterparts, but they are presented and revised in a way that freshens the experience. "Rub Rabbits'" mini-games range from a 1 vs. 12 roshambo, to climbing up a descending escalator while skillfully dodging sumo wrestlers + polite gentlemen in top hats, to love-slapping your buddies to prevent them from sleeping/dying.

The music is, without a doubt, one of the most funniest pieces of work I have ever heard. Not only do you get remixes (and original versions) of the "RUB IT!" tune from "Feel The Magic," but selected pieces of classical music have been.. well, "Rubbitized," if you will. They must be heard to be believed.

Other improvements/new stuff: 1) Once you've customized your girl with the outfit of your choosing in Maniac mode, she will appear in your selected garments during the mimi-games in Memories mode. 2) Time attack mode: complete a mission/objective as fast as you can to score as high as you can. The ever-so-fun paint and stampede games are in this mode, among others that are unlocked as you progress through Story mode. 3) Where DO babies come from? If you have a special someone (or just anyone, really), you and your friend can participate in a fun but short mini-game where the two of you incorporate your personal stats (such as birthdays, etc) to match your compatibilities with each other. The result of this mix is a baby, which you can then use to contact other babies in another player's "Rub Rabbits" game.

"Rub Rabbits" is fun. It's goofy, it's great. Played "Feel The Magic" before? You'll want this. Haven't played "Feel The Magic" before? Forgot that game then; this is the one you want.

3.0 out of 5 stars RUB IT!!!, February 6, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Rub Rabbits (Video Game)
This game had a lot of potential. The music is catchy and funny. The graphics are great and flow the gameplay very well. The reviewers who helped me purchase this game were right....this is a VERY challenging game. I would put this at about the same difficulty level as Elite Beat Agents. Some of the mini-games(and it is all mini-games by the way) will frustrate you completly((I still cant beat the title level, but have beaten every other one:P)). Others are simple. It is pretty fun and enjoyable, and the replay value is very good.

I purchased this because I enjoy quirky japanese titles. There are a few levels that irked me, due to a sudden spike in the difficulty level. All-in-all, it was a C+ game. That said, if you are not a fan of randomness, you will give it an F.
