I purchaesd this lamp for my living room. I have a nice square side table that I was going to put it on next to my couch. The lamp was packaged nicely and was extremely easy to put together. The first thing I noticed was that it was a little smaller than I had imagined. I did read that it was 18.5 inches tall and I thought that would be large enough for that specific table, but it just doesn't look big enough, considering the lamps I had there before. It looks very nice and elegant while still casual enough to put in any room, however make sure you measure correctly because I didn't. I love the look of the lamp and didn't want to return it so I decided to put it next to my bed on the bedside table. I love how it looks so much that just ordered another one for my hubby's side. The quality is great and the lampshade is a nice beige color. Don't expect too much light from the lamp though because of the darker shade. Works very well in the bedroom though! Overall, I am glad I bought it and the price was great! It is also not so light weight that you feel like you're going to knock it over and break it, it actually has a nice weight to it and feels very sturdy.

I purchased this lamp to stand atop a chest of drawers so my daughter could read at night and turn off the light before she goes to sleep without getting out of bed. It is the perfect height. The stand and shade are not miniature, just small versions of a standard size, so this table lamp looks very balanced in her room.
