I received this purse as a gift for my birthday. It was on my wish list, so I wasn't overly surprised, but still very happy!

The awesome Pros of the chicken purse:

*Not highly susceptible to purse thieves (it's a bit flashy)

*Nice size for carrying objects (ex. water bottles) inside

*Conversation starter

*Matches well with most wardrobes (surprisingly!)

*Feels very durable- strong handles, nice and detailed rubber

*Has a handy inside pocket for keys or cellphone

*Lined with silk-like material and bottom of purse is reinforced

*Fits over the forearm (even with a bulky winter coat on!) for those chilly days when hands must be in pockets


The minimal Cons of the Chicken Purse:

*Might attract more attention than wanted

*The zipper closer IS a bit shorter than expected and can be a hassle when putting objects (like microwave-ready soup containers) inside, but for general (normal?) use it isn't too much or an issue

*Has an odd rubber smell that isn't a big deal and is only noticeable when sticking your nose in the bag. (and will eventually fade, I think). So far, it hasn't made any items inside the bag smell, but when I added a pack of minty gum inside, the two smells mixed and are fairly unlikable.

*Feels durable, but I am concerned about sharp objects possibly stabbing through the rubber (somehow??)


Overall, I am thrilled I received this as a birthday present. I did have it on my wish list. A great gift idea for someone who loves chickens (not me) or doesn't enjoy the conventional purse styles (defiantly me!)

I almost wish there was a button inside the comb of the chicken that would produce a "clucking" noise when pressed. But, maybe that's going too far. Haha.

Love it, love it. Get comments every time I'm out with it. It makes people (& myself) smile or laugh.

i love this purse! it was bigger and sturdier than i expected! everwhere i go people look at it and comment on it. the ONLY thing i hate is the super narrow opening and the super short handles. it isn't enough to keep me from using it because A LOT fits inside of it!

I have just ordered my second chicken purse! My first one I've had for 2 years before having to retire her. This purse is so much fun if your an out-going people kinda person! Everywhere I go people have to show their friends, take a picture of it and/or touch it. I even have a clucking chicken ringtone on my phone and couldn't resist naming my "girls." I find Delores and Agnes quite popular~ hahaha.
The one draw back I have is that, it's hard to find anything in this cavernous purse. The zipper opening is so small that I've considered extending the opening down the "bum" w/ velcro. Not to be weird or gross but for convenience purposes. After some time the rubber will start to crack all over, especially around the handles from stretching the opening to dig for stuff. Obviously though, its worth the it in the end!

There is nothing bad to say about a rubber chicken purse. It is genius. And, because it is made of rubber, it wipes off easily if you spill your spaghetti-os... LOL SOOOO cute!

People are used to me having an awesome purse and this one was a BIG HIT....small opening, deep purse, and very durable......GET ONE!

I bought this fo my Mom for Christmas. It was her favorite gift and she says that she has never had so many compliments on her apparel!!! She is 86 and resides in an assisted living facility and is the envy of all the ladies with her new purse. Highly recommend this, it is well made, roomy and definitely unique. Just the thing for someone who already has everything!!

I had read the reviews on the item so I knew about the opening (zipper) being small/short. I'm worried about one thing though: the threads on the handle were already loose when I opened the package. I love the rest so I'll fix it.

I bought this purse because it made me laugh and I couldn't stop smiling when I saw it. It's had the same effect on everyone around me every time I've used it. Everyone smiles and thinks it's just the greatest bag ever. I do wish that the handles were longer....it is an oversight that requires you to hold it by its handles. I can just barely slip it over my shoulder, but it's not so comfortable and an extra 2" on the handles would solve the problem. It really does look best over your shoulder because it looks like you're carrying a chicken under your arm. It's a riot! People at work actually ask me when I'm going to bring my chicken purse again but they have to wait until summertime. As for cost, a little expensive and frivolous for something plastic, but I've had so much fun with it, that it's been totally worth it.
