5.0 out of 5 stars WRAPPING PAPER STORAGE AND ORGANIZER----RUBBERMAID
A truly neat and unique way to keep paper and all essentials needed together for the task of what we all do many times during the year for so many occasions. I am happy to have finally purchased one. Thanks lots for this great helper.

When these first came out, they filled a void that made us go out and get one immediately. Although they are rather expensive, they do hold a lot of paper and some wrapping items (scissors, tape, pen, to/from cards, ribbon and bows).

They got it right:
1) Has a special flip top lid for wrapping hardware.
2) Nice quality plastic, stands up to storing in the basement - hasn't cracked or broken.
3) The lid fits tightly, keeps out any critters.
4) Holds a lot of paper and other supplies like bags and bows.

They need to rethink it:
1) The item is about a foot too short... only fits short rolls of paper.
2) The utility compartment that holds your scissors and paper should also lift open to allow easy access to the rolls. You have to remove the cover instead and it can be tough to do that and put it back on.
3) The utility compartment should be a little bit larger. It barely holds a roll of ribbon. Would also be nice to have adjustable plastic segments.
4) Needs to be a bit roomier.
5) Could use an adjustable "slot" system, say with a cross bar about half way deep to allow you to remove rolls without adjusting the entire container full. Would also allow you to have the rolls stay vertical and give space for a bag of bows without everything falling to one side.

For the money, it should include all of the above and probably come half full of paper (it's a Piece of plastic!). We also bought a Sterlite one that's a foot taller, but it doesn't have a compartment for tools. Nor does it have a crossbar... but it was much cheaper and holds almost twice the paper.

I'm giving it a 3. It's a nice design, but could be a lot better. I hope Rubbermaid reads this!

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice Idea. Poor execution., January 15, 2007

This review is from: Rubbermaid 220200 Wrap N'Craft 33-Inch Vertical Storage Container, Clear (Kitchen)
I got this for $5 after Xmas @ Target and wouldn't recommend paying any more for it. Even though I don't have many rolls to store I thought it might be a good idea to start & save on wrapping for next year by storing them in this. While I'll still probably use it, it is extremely annoying. The plastic seems ok, however the design is not user friendly at all. The large container portion seems sturdy & you might pick this up if you plan on storing things uncovered, however the lid (2 pieces) is a nightmare. For starters, it uses 4 plastic clips which attach it to the top in such a way that it is loose on the top (not air tight) & wiggles, however it is almost impossible to lift it off. It requires 2 hands & much effort (ie. holding the big bottom portion between your legs & grabbing the top lid with both hands) to get it off. Within the lid there is a small (almost negligible size) flat compartment that is supposed to hold scissors/ribbons etc., but it's too small to hold anything more than a very thin pair of scissors and maybe one tape container and one bow. The lid that closes onto the top compartment in the lid is hinged so it lifts up & down, but it doesn't snap shut. So, if you're going to remove the lid, you better take out all the contents of this top portion or they will fly all over the place. Rubbermaid should have designed this so that the large lid portion hinges for easy removal of the rolls and the small compartment inside the lid attach by a secure locking piece.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good box, loose lid, December 9, 2006

This does hold a number of rolls well, but the lid falls off if you bump it. Can not be used horizontal, or pass it up and down the lader easily.

3.0 out of 5 stars Expected better, November 30, 2007

This is fine for storage, but its a pain in the fingers to use during the holiday season. The lid is really frustrating to get off without some muscle and 4 arms. The top storage compartment doesn't have a latch or anything so if you're not careful when wrestling the lid off, you'll wind up spilling the items stored up top.

The other downside is this only holds shorter rolls of gift wrap. I'm sure that was the standard at one time but it seems the 35 inch+ paper is more and more common.

Lastly, vertical storage isn't very ideal with something as delicate as paper. Unless you've tightly taped up each roll, they will get wrinkled and torn being taken out and put back into a vertical container.

I'd highly recommend a horizontal under bed type of container. Rubbermaid makes some great ones I've re-purposed for my holiday gift wrapping needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Laundry...Not so much for Wrapping Paper, May 31, 2007
I purchased several of the Vertical Wrap'N Craft storage boxes several years ago but soon found out they were very hard to use. The top is difficult to open and the upper compartment is too small for common supplies (ie: bows, scissors, ribbon, tags, etc). Since these containers are fairly expensive ($15-$20 each) I was determined to find a good use, which I did. I now use these containers (w/o the lids) to hold dirty laundry. My kids each have 3 in their closets: one for whites, one for medium colors, one for dark colors. My husband and I have an additional one for dry cleaning. They are the perfect size for laundry loads and make sorting so much easier.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why would anyone pay this much ????, August 8, 2008

I have to confess--I did not buy this particular model, but I have a similar product from k-mart that was no more than $10. It's held up great, has locking side clamps, and a lift off top for storing tape, scissors, ribbon. I was looking for wrapping paper online and stumbled upon this and just couldn't believe my eyeballs. I've had mine for close to 5 years. No cracks. Even so, I could buy 3 or 4 !!!
