This definitely keeps my bread fresher longer. The down side is that its hard to get the loaf of bread inside.

I love this bread keeper. I first aquired this when my mother-in-law bought it to transport pasteries up to us in her checked baggage. She didn't want it, so we kept it. I quickly found out that it perfectly stores two of my loaves of pumpkin bread. As this is a staple in my home, that alone makes it useful.
What i really love about it is the pull out bottom. Inside of the container is a bottom with 1 inch sides and a back. It slides in and out of the container making it easy to store more than one loaf. You can even cut right on the bottom slider, although the sids do make it hard if you are cutting through 'crusty' breads. I will say, the bummer of this bread is that our bread machine breads won't fit in it. Anything I make in the loaf pan works just fine, but bread machine breads are too big. Sometimes I go so far as to make the dough in the bread machine and then shape it and make it in the oven so that I can use this bread keeper, especially if I know that it is a bread that will be around for a while. The only reason I am replacing mine is that it finally was destroyed. It has been dropped many, many, many times. It took a tumble from on top of the refridgerator, full of pumpkin bread. The lid stayed on, but it got a small crack in it. The next time this happened, a couple of weeks ago, the small crack turned into a large crack with a small hole. The lid still remained on, the bread was saved, but the container is no longer airtight.

The container itself is great. The only downfall is the new containers don't have the slide-out tray the old containers had... Bummer

Plastic Bread Containers,
This review is from: Giant Loaf Bread Keeper (Kitchen)
I have been making my own bread and these plastic containers are great. They save me money by not using plastic ziplock bags. I even put my homemade dinner rolls or muffins in one so the kids have a healthy snack. The price was a little high, but I think they are worth it. FYI - There were 4 containers for one order.

I bought this because my aunt has one and she loves it... problem is that I couldn't find it in stores and this is certainly not the one she has. Hers is big enough to allow the bread to be dropped in but small enough so that you can turn the bag inside out over the lip. This way you can leave the bread in the container and pull it up to the top of the container by pulling the bag over the outside of the container thus reducing the amount of air that is around the bread. But this container is much larger than a standard loaf of bread and you cannot pull the bag inside out over the outside of the container... It has probably earned its place on the garage sale table.

Was looking for a loaf container for bread-machine loaves. This is strictly for store-bought bread loaves. It is less convenient than the plastic bag and twist tie. Not sure where it would be benificial.

I bought this keeper to replace a large Rubbermaid box we were using for bread and pastry-type things. This container is perfect for holding large loaves of bread, and has a nice tight seal. The long line of the keeper gives me more space on top of the fridge where we keep our bread. More space is always good. I will buy one of these again and would recommend to friends and family.

This loaf keeper is great for sandwich loaf style bread. My only draw back is that you can not bring the wrapper onto the plastic and slide it over. The keeper is way too wide. So it is kind a pointless to use it. Having to dig down into the keeper and get your bread.
