I like this box. It was easy to assemble within a few minutes. There are optional accessories to divide the inside, but none are included with this box. The assembled box is large enough to fit standard-sized garden tools, such as rakes, hoes, etc.

It has been in my back yard, under my second-story porch for the two months now. I put all my lawn-care equipment (sprayers, insecticides, tools, etc.) in it. None of them has gotten wet despite a few very heavy downpours. There is a place on the handle to apply a lock if you so choose.

It is not "airtight" so I imagined insects might make their way inside, but so far that hasn't happened. Maybe because I don't keep any food in it, or maybe the platic smell is a repellant.

It is definitely sturdy enough to sit on.

You can't push this box flush with a wall because it needs about three inches of clearance behind it to allow for opening it without scrating the rear of the top.

All in all, a good purchase. Amazon's price is also perfect. I compared to my local Lowes, and Amazon's price is better - and with free shipping and no tax. Can't beat that!

This was exactly what we needed! We have 10 deck chairs with double pillows and everytime it was going to rain, we had no idea where we were going to put them. It was annoying taking them off and putting them in the house. So, we made the purchase - which is pricey - but will save us from having to buy new cushions next year. It will save summer money in the long term. Besides that, it also serves as extra seating in case you should need it. The deck box is really extra large, so be sure that you have an idea of where you are going to put it before you buy. We have an oversized deck, so it works for us. It is really a nice product. I am so happy that we bought this one.

I use this box as a dock box at my marina. Huge space inside and only a fraction of the cost of "real" fiberglass dock boxes.
Very easy to assemble. Took only 5 minutes since all pieces snap together (there are only 6 pieces total). Sturdy and weahther proof.
One thing is unfortunate. RubberMaid used to include one devider but for some reason does not do this anymore.

I've seen some folks try to compare this to fiberglass dock boxes, which are typically much more expensive, but there is really no comparing the two. This item is fine for storage under a covered porch, but I doubt its ability to take what an expensive dock box can handle. It should be noted that the rubbermaid unit is far from air tight. Once all sides come together, there is plenty of room for small critters and moisture to get in. Should not be considered for areas where rain might rise above the one inch or so bottom "lip". It remains to be seen how well the box holds up to the pounding Florida sun. Lastly, I was expecting a more brownish color than what it really is. The picture Amazon shows is not very accurate. I would describe the color as two tone grey. To Amazon's credit, at $15 it was shipped much more affordably than Target, who wanted $75.00!

this storage box gets an A for functionality...it is sturdy and very roomy, as a huge storage box should be. i also give it an A for ease of assembly. it took me less than 10 minutes using the enclosed easy-to-follow directions. my only complaint is with the "seat" feature. the box is entirely too high and bulky to qualify as a comfortable place to sit and the actual built-in groove is too shallow. but i bought it mainly for storage and so i don't mind its shortcomings as furniture.

This product was very easy to assemble, except for the cheaply made straps that keep the lid from opening all the way. I never did find out where these were supposed to go. The real problem was when I moved the deck boxes (I had two different sizes), they both fell apart. I reassembled both deck boxes twice, and had the same problem twice. I have returned both of them. I expected more from Rubbermaid. I ended up buying another brand (Suncast) which assembled even easier but did't fall apart when I moved them.

The storage box went together ok, but where the locking parts inter-lock together, was a sloppy fit. It should be a solid fit. If the items are a little to wide (like Cushions) it will push out the sides. You can see where the corners have pulled apart some, this will cause a leak.
I bought the deck box to keep a my new cushions dry and clean!

The specs listed on Amazon say that this box is 66 inches long. It is actually only 60" long. I purchased this item based on the dimensions given, and was unable to use it as intended due to the discrepency. It is otherwise a good sturdy storage box..very easy to assemble.

We bought this container to house all of our roof-top items when they are not in use. It sounds like the perfect item - large, sturdy, lockable, weatherproof. But the funny thing is, not all the tabs that interlock actually do. After it was all set up, we went to move it and the bottom just fell right out. What good is a locking deck box that just falls apart? It claims to be waterproof - I went to check on the roof after a big rain storm and when I lifted the lid to add to the box, the water just ran down the box and inside, covering the contents with water. The interlocking parts don't always lock, and I am very dissapointed with this Rubbermaid product - I thought for sure this would be a name I could count on. I even took the thing apart and tried a second time. Had a buddy do it a third time (in case I wasn't "getting it") with no luck.

I wouldn't recommend it - maybe I simply just got a defective product. Re-packaging the thing is a nightmare. Plan ahead big time on this one, and set your personal expectations slightly lower.

Very happy with the deck box. Easy to install except for finding a piece of wood to support hammering in the cover screws. The box is large enough to fit all of our deck gear and matches well with tans and light grays.

All in all, a well designed deck box.
