Nice, Inexpensive Storage,

Bought 2 of these on Amazon.com for $59.99 each with free shipping. I wanted plastic storage compartments for my garage rather than particle board as sometimes snow melting and falling off of the tires can get the garage floor wet. If particle board gets wet it falls apart while plastic does not. The cabinet assembled nicely, with no tools required. The doors shut fine. I suspect that people who have problems shutting their doors have not properly assembled the cabinet. To snap the top of the cabinet into place, you have to have the doors open. They will then close fine. The doors do have tiny holes for inserting a padlock.

Rubbermaid Storage Cabinet,
This review is from: Rubbermaid 7085 Base Cabinet (Kitchen)
I love these cabinets so much that I bought 2 of the large and 1 of the small. They are the greatest for storage. My basement was a mess before I purchased these. I wish you could see the basement now, it is so neat and we now know where everything is. Highly recommend this product.

FANTASTIC,

After reading a couple of reviews about this item, I was a little skeptical - BUT - this cabinet is GREAT....EASY to assemble (about 15 minutes)and it's holds SO MUCH stuff! I bought these to store my kids toys in the playroom - they hold all the toys - and then there's the tops of them that hold even more! The kids have no problems opening them, reaching all of their toys, inside and on top - and it leaves lots of floor space for them to play in! I was soooo impressed by these that I bought the full cabinets - and I'm now in the process of cleaning up my basement - and these are just as fantastic too!

My 13-year-old son and I assembled this together one evening and it was not difficult, but be sure to use a rubber mallet to help gently pound the pieces into place together. I use it for all my spa and pool chemicals (and I have alot!) Do keep the doors in the open position as you pound everything into place together with your rubber mallet towards the end of the assembly process. This unit was the perfect size for me. It is outside on my mid-level deck under the stairs for the upper deck. I really needed it for my storage needs and it has turned out great. There is a place for a very small lock to be inserted if you need to keep children out of it. A good product.

Wanted an enclosure for my outdoor patio to hold pool and garden supplies. Will hold up and the price was right.

Garage Cabinets at a Great Value,
By
This review is from: Rubbermaid 7085 Base Cabinet (Kitchen)
We recently purchased several of these Rubbermaid products for garage storage in our new home. They are very affordable and are surprisingly sturdy. We had been forewarned (in an earlier review) that the shelves may start to sag if too much weight is placed on them, so we put all of the heavier items (such as 10 gal. paint cans) on the bottom shelf. Compared with the much-higher cost of stainless steel cabinets, these cabinets very adequately met our storage needs. Assembly is remarkably easy - if my extremly "unhandy" husband could do it in 15 minutes or less, anyone can! One note of caution regarding the doors: the plastic on the side where they affix to the cabinet does need to be trimmed, otherwise the doors will bind. This must be due to a slight manufacturing defect. They can be easily trimmed with an Exacto knife so it's no big deal.

Not the quality I expected.,

This is a very functional cabinet and it assembles easily. The quality is not what I expected from a Rubbermaid product. The plastic is not as sturdy as I have seen in competing products.

the base cabinet had some deformed side walls that didn't align and make a good seal. they had a angle and should have been flat

overpriced, overlaid instructions, left the plugs in the doors.,

1. This product is hugely overpriced.2. The cutouts in the holes were so chincy, the plastic cracked when I inserted the poles. They left the plug cutouts in the doors so they would rattle around inside. 3. The top lid didn't size up to the holes. I had to bend the plastic to make it fit. 4. The assembly instructions were on the outside of the box - nice idea except that the packaging people glued the Bill of Materials right over the top of the instructions (so the glue would pull the top layer off the instructions.

This seems like a decent design and as though it will hold up in my garage, where wood or metal would be likely to deteriorate. On the other hand, it has a number of negatives. The manufacturing is rather shoddy. Everything fit together, sometimes with difficulty. The place where the lock goes is very flimsy - a mouse with manicure scissors could probably cut right through the thin plastic - so the locking feature is not well designed at all. Shelves are very sturdy, but not adjustable. Appearance is not too bad.
