3.0 out of 5 stars Looks good, but needs better tilting
The main thing that makes this board a 3/5 instead of a 5/5 is actually the most crucial. It is designed to take the drainage from your wet dishes and silverware into the sink. Unfortunately, it has not tilting whatsoever and the lip at one end only serves to keep the water from spilling on the counter instead of directing it into the sink.

A better design would be tilting it even just slightly more, so that the water would trickle into the sink rather than much of it staying on the board. The board is supposed to be antimicrobial in nature, but with standing water on it, I do not see how that is possible. Don't get me wrong here, it is nice and compact and I would rather have it than not. I just would prefer something that did not need to be lifted to drain the water.

1.0 out of 5 stars Same thing - different color, March 4, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I liked this because of the Antimicrobial feature and hoped that improvements had been made in the way it drained. Water still accumulates in the the 2 corners and has to be wiped up every time it is used. I'm still looking for a drain board where the water runs to the middle and out into the sink. This is NOT it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rubbermaid Large Drainboard, January 27, 2008
The drainboard functions as advertised but I have have one negative comment on it. The underside verticle ribs, while slanted nicely to drain the water off, are made of a very hard material which causes the drain board to slide all over the countertop when even touched slightly. Dishes have to be placed in the top dish drainer carefully otherwise the bottom drain board slides out of position to drain the dripped water into the sink. The very thin underside vertical ribs make it almost impossible to stick on some type of anti slide rubber buttons to aliviate this sliding problem.

Once freed from the box and packing materials, after some trial and error, we just placed it into the position we thought best. We observed absolutely no microbial activity so assume it's doing exactly as advertised. If you have the inclination it might be fun to watch the water make its way from a dish or utensil to the board and then, through the well engineered gravity driven slope process, watch drops of water inexorably make their way to the sink. However, some may be disappointed to observe that some moisture evaporates before actually reaching the sink. I don't know if this might be a design flaw, but it didn't disappoint us too much.

This review is from: Rubbermaid Antimicrobial Drain Boards (Kitchen)
The listing specifies the small is 15.4" x 14.4"

It isn't. If you're measuring a space or a rack that will sit on top, bear in mind that it's only 14.4. x about 13".

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for, August 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this for my mom, who has a sink in the corner of her L-shaped kitchen counter, and needed something where the short side rather than the long side empties into the sink. She was unable to find anything in her local stores that worked. Because this drain board is square, it worked out perfectly for her. Sure, not every drop of water pours into the sink, but most of it does. The plastic seems sturdy and she is quite happy with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Drainboard, November 15, 2007
I liked the older flexible type of drainboard. This is very hard and doesn't clean off as well. The shipping was quite expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drain Board, April 14, 2008

I dissagree with most of the previous reviews. This drain board looks nice and functions perfectly. It cleans nicely, very sturdy and drains perfectly into the sink. I have had no problem with it slipping around. It does take up the counter width (front to back) but that gives you more room next to it. It is large enough to hold the Metro chromeplated steel dish rack which is a slightly larger size dish rack.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, March 21, 2007

I ordered the rubbermaid large drainboard (in fact, four of the drainboards)since it is very difficult to find them....I received in more than reasonable time.... when I opened each box...(since I ordered all four at once, I am wondering why they were EACH shipped in separate boxes??)the order of the plastic was such that not only could I not put them in my kitchen where people actually eat, I could not stand the odor in my cellar or my garage (with the thought the odor might go away)...so I returned all four at my expense and was then told I would be refunded only half of the price since I used Amazon's return labels - which I have proof I did not and that this problem of the odor was not Amazon's fault... which, the odor was not Amazon's fault - it was the responsibility of Rubber Maid, but if anyone at Amazon had bothered to notice the noctious odor, Amazon might not have tried to sell them...
Okay, I am out money for ordering, this odor was not my fault either, but let's penalize the customer. While I have in the past been happy with the items ordered and the policies, I will probably not be ordering anything but books since I now have experience with your policies that I am not happy with... Product satisfaction - 0 (zero); customer services satisfaction - 0 (zero).
Thanks for asking.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk at best, March 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I replaced a ten year old "rubber" Rubbermaid drain board with this new plastic replacement. Rubbermaid should be ashamed to put their name on this product. The water collects in the middle when the board is flat on the counter. It is so light weight as to not have any "grip" to the counter. The lip will not span even the smallest sink molding. I've retreived my old board from the trash, will repair the split in the edge with some crazy glue and put the new board in the trash. It has zero value in my humble opinion.
