I recently bought this to replace my previous, 15-year old Rubbermaid dish drainer, which I loved, but which had gotten rusted. This one is not the same design as the previous one. On the original, there was a strip of wire that ran horizontally around the basket, about one inch from the bottom. This strip kept glasses above the edge of the counter. The new design is flimsier and less sanitary, with the edge of the glasses resting on the counter. You also need to be more careful putting the glasses on the prongs on the side, as they could drop against the edge of the counter and crack.

I have been buying Rubbermaid dish drainers since I got my first apartment back in the '70s and took their quality for granted. In the last couple of years, Rubbermaid has cheapened this simple product to the degree that it no longer works like it should. The newer drainers are not as heavy, the prongs are not tall enough to hold a larger dinner plate upright (anything over 10" will tip) and their angle is wrong, the oblong flatware caddy is an abomination in all ways mainly by not holding utensils straight up so they can dry with fewer water spots - not to mention knife points getting stuck in the oval slots, and the vinyl coating is inferior.

Shame on Rubbermaid for dirty-ing its name by offering such a crappy version of one of its original brand-building products. It's obvious Rubbermaid has no respect for its American consumers and it's too bad that young adults just starting out will not realize that this product is junk. I will not buy another Rubbermaid drainer; I prefer to pay more for something that will perform and last longer.

This drainer is ok. It is small and fits into our sink, but if you use it outside of the sink the larger utensils such as large spoons, large knives, and wooden spoons fall out of the utensil drainer.

I moved to a new apartment and wanted an in-sink dish drain. After looking around, I decided on this one from Rubbermaid and could not be happier. The ones I saw prior to deciding on this one either sat across the top of the sink basin in clear sight or were metal/steel and subject to rusting. I did not want either of those type, so i chose the black Rubbermaid in the SMALL size. I've used the larger Rubbermaid version on my counter before, and I know it does not rust. I chose this one because it's a perfect fit to sit inside my double sink and it has sides to provide support for my dishes (I measured and compared the dimensions before purchasing). The ones I saw that sat inside the sink did not have sides, and this bothered me, as i wanted more support for my dishes. If, for some reason, there were a shift in the dish drain or an earthquake (I live in LA), then at least the dishes would hit the side of the dish drain and not the side of my stainless steel sink . The small version does not have cup holders on the side, but I don't mind. I use this for my small items like my coffee cups and cereal bowls. Larger items go into the dishwasher. It hides nicely in the sink and does the job. Very, very happy with this purchase. I used Amazon Locker and got it in ONE day. Amazon and Amazon Locker rock!

The rubbermaid dish drainer in black is big enough to accomodate a large dish rack for a full load of dishes. The price--in comparison with offers from other companies--is great and it looks fine in the kitchen. My only concern is that water doesn't really drain into the sink since the slant/design doesn't force the small accumulations from dripping dishes downward. Therefore, I do have to clean/wipe it regularly. It's a great size, though, and a nice deal for the price.

Believe it or not, this new Rubbermaid dish drainer replaced the exact type and model that I had for the last 16 years but had worn out over time; so, obviously, it is a very durable kitchen item. Also, this drainer fits perfectly in my sink and has a two utensil drainers where most dish drainers only have one.

Don't sweat the negative reviews; there is really nothing wrong with this drainer. It could use more storage space for silverware, but aside from that, it's ideal.
I've seen a lot of people claim there is a HUGE "hole" that dishes can fall out of. This is retarded. There is a SMALL space, which is blocked by the silverware holder, but no dishes could possibly fall out, through this. As for the silverware holder, itself: it would be nice if there were two, but there is nothing wrong with the one included; it is of average size and normal utensils stand up in it, just fine, so long as you're not trying to jam anything huge, in there.

This drainer is well-made, functional, attractive, and VERY reasonably-priced. No, Rubbermaid "doesn't make 'em like they used to," but that's true of virtually any product, from any brand. There are no crazy design flaws, here; just an economical way of holding your dishes as they dry. You could probably find a better dish drainer, but you will not find a better one anywhere NEAR this price.

I have a two tub sink, and was looking for a drainer to fit the smaller side. All the small drainers I tried didn't quite fit, my sinks corners are rounded. This drainer didn't quite fit either originally, but unlike the other drainers which were made of wire, I was able to trim the lip of this plastic drainer at the corners, making a perfect fit.

This dishrack's dimensions are NOT what the website says. It is 14.1" x 12.6" x 4.5". It is listed as 12.6" x 4.6" x 13.9"

I purchased this as a replacement for one I had had for several years, as Rubbermaid has always been a quality product to me I purchased a Rubbermaid....boy, what a difference...this is very, very cheesey, flimsy plastic....not at ALL like the old one I had.....I almost went and got it out of the dumpster when I saw this one, I had the other one at LEAST 12 years, I don't see this one lasting much past 1 or 2 if that, the silverware basket is small and keeps moving...all in all I am very, very disappointed in this product and would not buy another one!
