5.0 out of 5 stars Great storage, easy assembly
This is a great storage solution for lawn equipment (push mower, not rider), yard tools, etc. We bought one to hide behind our new home because our home owner's association has rules about sheds and because it's low-profile, so it sits under the windows where we have it. Very easy assembly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware of lid
The unit is very easy to assembly, but the sliding lid is poorly designed. If you lift up, even slightly, instead of sliding back the brackets break free and can't be replace successfully and permanently. The lid then comes off in a heavy wind or when being used in hot weather. Huge disappointment for a Rubbermaid product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Product Price Information, July 7, 2007

Do not get ripped off by purchasing this unit on the internet. I called Home Depot just to verify what others had said about pricing in their reviews and they sell it for $329. Now, I am off to Home Depot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to work very well, but requires absolutely flat land, May 18, 2009
By
My goal was to get the mower out of the garage. I accomplished that - and then some. This is a great shed that isnt too ugly and goes together fairly easily with two execeptions:

Assembly:

Assembly instructions are very clear and anyone can put this together if you can follow instructions. I noticed that two of the screw holes were not fully drilled out by the factory, so I had to finish the job. Other than that, everything went fairly smoothly EXCEPT . . .

. . . the roof. The way the assembly works is that you construct the floor, then the four walls, then you attach the roof. The roof attaches by engaging tabs into slots on the back and sides, then pushing the roof forward to engage everything. For the life of me I could not get the front slots on each side to engage. I got all of the others to engage and it seems to work fine (even after a pretty good rainstorm the other night), but I never was able to get the front ones to engage. From reading teh reviews, I think others had the same problem, so I don't feel as bad.

Also, more than half of the construction time was spent leveling the ground. This is a VERY important step. If the ground is not level, the whole thing will contort and nothing will fit - the roof won't close and the doors won't stay shut. Once the ground was perfectly level, everything (except the front tabs described above) went together and works well.

Operation:

This thing is actually pretty large. I am able to fit my Toro push mower and a large jogging stroller (not collapsed) side by side and still have lots of extra room for gas cans and what-nots.

I bought a lock for the door, just to keep it shut. Otherwise it has a tendency to open in the wind. If you are worried about security, the strongest lock in the world will not keep your stuff safe. If someone wants to get in, it is fairly easy to muscle the panels apart. That said, I don't think animals could easily get inside.

Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase. Assembly was fairly stright-forward and it operates exactly as expected. I accomplished my goal of freeing up some garage space.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doors fall off, April 25, 2008
By
I've had the slide lid shed for almost 2 years now and for the most part it does the job of storing all of the kids bikes and outdoor toys. The biggest issue I have with the shed it the poorly designed door hinges. The little plastic nubs that hold the door in place simply broke off. To fix this I've added decorative metal fence hinges which I bent to follow the contour of the doors. I have a feeling the hinges will now outlast the rest of the shed.

I just picked up the identical unit at Home Depot for $329.00. That is about 1/2 the price that it currently shows at here. Rent their truck for $19 and the shipping is cheaper too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great dog house!, March 13, 2006
We have had this 'storage unit' for almost 5 years and it's a perfect under the deck house for our dogs. We put a doggy door on one of the doors and there is plenty of room for two large pet crates, 5 gallon water and food containers and a heater or fan!

There has never been a leak, it stays relatively clean and makes a very cozy and dry place for our dogs to sleep and live in part time. They are inside with us most of the time but I was getting so sick of them disrupting our sleep by getting up and down from the bed and in and out of the covers.

It may seem a litte pricey for a dog house but it's been a great investment for us, our two dogs and our sanity and it doesn't have any signs of cracking or breaking after almost 5 years.

(incidentaly, I could SWEAR that we paid under $200 for this thing -- I guess since plastic is made from oil that it goes up like everything else does...yikes!!)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as solid as had hoped, September 28, 2007
Just purchased for childrens bicycles 9/07. Took my poor husband almost 2 hours to assemble because of all the parts. Once assembled saw it was not as solid as had hoped. Kind of wobbly. I just hope it stands up to our East Coast winters and rainy windy springs. That will remain to be seen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Horizontal Sliding Shed for bikes usually, August 5, 2006

I have to comment, this is 2nd online store for this shed, we already have one, and we bought it at Home Depot (standard stock item) about 2 yrs. ago, for $299.99.... I want another one for additional storage other than bikes (Mfr.# 3752) and the price only went up to $329.99.... so you can get it cheaper, you still could rent a home depot truck for $20 and still come out less expensive. Our plastic lock broke the first year, as one other review has mentioned, i do agree, overall, quickly assembed under 30 mins., and roomy and plastic has no signs of wear. Good luck shopping!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice size, February 9, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I wanted a good amount of space that I could hide in a corner of my yard. The sliding roof makes this one easy to access and lower profile than other larger storage units. Assembly was pretty easy, too.
