Rubbermaid EZ Step 2-Step Folding Stool

PROS -- it's lightweight and portable and storable. It's sturdy when it's open and easy to use if you are just trying to reach up a bit higher for something.
CONS -- it does slide on linoleum, though not with adult weight on it. I bought it thinking it would be a spacesaving, inexpensive option for my child to reach the sink and counters since it's a little higher than those two-step kids' stepstools, but a young child on it, pushing against a counter trying to reach forward, can slide it backwards. Plus, because of the slant in the back, the step is a few inches away from the counter/cabinets and leveraging little toes against it while reaching forward makes it even more likely to slide on a linoleum floor. So if you are also thinking of putting a kid on it instead of a space-hogging heavy block-type stepstool, keep looking.

The top step is sturdy and textured so that you won't slip on it, but it's not a very wide step, so it's only great for reaching for things. I wouldn't stand on it for doing things like painting or installing something.

I've had this stool for a couple years & am constantly suprised at the uses I am able to find for it. It is very stable & folds up easily to a very slim silhouette - easy for putting away in a closet.

I got this for my kitchen to reach the highest shelves way in the back stuff. I am 6ft tall but still couldn't reach everything. I'm a size 16 so I am no small person but well under the weight limit. I have many physical disabities and arthritis and it works well for an older person like me.

I tried the stool first thing and it is very sturdy, no wobble or feeling like it was not going to support me. It locks in place when open. I was delighted too to find that it stands freely when closed. I can keep it between the stove and counter so no running to farthest room in the house to get the other step stool.

I can highly recommend this product. I might add that I am afraid of heights and I can stand on the top step just fine, one more step and no way I'd do it.

Not sure why they almost never say how tall these little ladders are, but I have one I just measured and it's 18" to the top step. It's good for what it is. Definitely helpful around the house. It is a bit bulky considering it's only 18" tall but not a problem around the house. I want one that is more compact (narrower and lighter) but just as tall for my RV. If I can just find an aluminum equivalent...

I was hoping for something that would be appropriate for a slightly arthritic woman who weighs 250 pounds (well below the 300 pound limit listed for this stool.)

When she stepped on the first step of the stool, the feet splayed ever so slightly. In addition, the first step is too narrow to provide secure footing. No doubt this is a good buy for lighter, more agile people, but not good for people who are fit enough to climb a step stool, but need it to be very sturdy & ample.

I had really liked my EZ Step Folding stool until a recent incident has prompted me to caution its users. My husband was standing on the stool when it came apart in 3 pieces and caused him to fall and suffer serious injury. His injury did require surgery and a long period of rehab, and we feel that this caution is needed for others using this product.

This stepstool is PERFECT.

First of all, since it's plastic, it is very light and easy to carry. Plus it's very, very sturdy and stable, no way to fall off of it. It folds up very nicely and can fit in a closet or under a bed no problem.

I would say this stepstool is ten times better than one of the metal ones because it is so much sturdier and also very light at the same time.

I have very high cabinets and shelves since my apartment is "loft-style" and this is really perfect. If you're going to get a stepstool, this is the one.

This is the best step stool I have ever owned. It's strudy, and the top step is wide so that I never feel off balance when I stand on it.

I've owned this stool for 5-10 years. During much of that time, I weighed 300 pounds and more. It holds more weight than many ladders do. I always felt safe on this stool--it's durable and safe. If I did, believe me, you can feel safe on it too.

This product is sturdy, and it folds so that it stands on its' own, but does not fold or unfold easily. It's difficult to do it without hurting your hand somehow. My husband refuses to use it at all. Once open, it's a good product.
