This review is from: Rubbish!: Reuse Your Refuse (Paperback)
I searched the inside of this book on Amazon, and was impressed by the variety of materials they suggest to reuse and craft with. When I got the book, I realized that was the only interesting part of the book. The ideas in here are so elementary, things you would see on forums, nothing original or even very appealing. Using a bottlecap to make a magnet? Needless to say, I returned this book in short order. I can't see anyone finding this book useful.

The first part that has to do with girl accessories it's somehow fresh and has a lot of nice things. The second part with home accessories it's not interesting enough to amaze you. The crafts aren't something that we haven't seen before.

Horrible :(,

This review is from: Rubbish!: Reuse Your Refuse (Paperback)
This book was horrible. Truly did not find a single item in it that I will be making. Expected to actually be able to 'reuse some refuse' not use three pages from a magazine and then buy a whole bunch more supplies to make a craft. Do not waste your money. If you truly want to reuse materials like I did, I would recommend "Craftcyle" by Heidi Boyd or "Alternacrafts" by Jessica Vitkus

Hmmm...Can you really call it recycling?,

In most cases, you are using a tiny piece of something you want to recycle and then use bunch of new chemicals(glues, varnishes, etc) to create something that is not even that appealing. There were two or three projects that looked nicer like negative lampshade or tea can pendant. Overall, I don't think this book reached the goal of reusing stuff to create appealing and usable new things. I am giving three stars, because it has good guide to where you can find information about modern crafting-online, magazines, and books.

This review is from: Rubbish!: Reuse Your Refuse (Paperback)
In this book there are a few interesting ideas to recycle, reuse, transform things. I wouldn't say it is absolutely crazy and revolutionary, but it's interesting and deserves to be read. In this field, any good idea is welcome as we never recycle enough. If it can teach people to be a little more careful when it's about throwing, it would be good. So many perfect things are thrown away with no reason !
Conclusion : it's a book to read. Yael, California

One or two interesting ideas.,
This review is from: Rubbish!: Reuse Your Refuse (Paperback)
This is worth checking out from you local library, but don't waste your money. You'll likely find one or two ideas that you either use or that spark some other idea but the majority is tacky and shoddy quality. If you're looking for summer camp craft time ideas, I suppose that works. But most of these projects will just upcycle items into garbage, which is counterproductive.
