I bought this for my 9-year-old son, who is small for his age. This "one size fits all" costume was perfect for him. But if you're a husky 10 or 12-year-old, it might be a little small. It's a good costume for the price, I looked around and they were mostly $25+. I did have to work with the clasp a little, but it stayed put fine once fastened. Robe is thin but seems pretty durable. The wire glasses were much more realistic than the plastic ones we already had. Wand is plastic but looks realistic, my son loved it. Overall, my son was tickled and looked very cute for Halloween!

I ordered this item for my 5 yr old who is a Harry Potter addict. He has had so much fun wearing his robe and glasses, pretending to be Harry. He has been using the wand to act out scenes from the Harry Potter films. It is a delight to see him having such a great time in imaginative play. The world of Harry Potter has really brought out his creative side!! The costume looks very much like the ones in the movies so I am very satisfied with this product and would highly reccommend it to other parents with kids who are huge Harry Potter fans like my little guy is... Great buy!!

My son is 8 years old and he loves this costume. It fits him perfectly and he's a dead ringer for Harry Potter! The glasses are an exact replica, something my son has begged for; and the wand is plastic, nice and sturdy. The robe is 100% polyester, thin, lightweight and not too shabby. I don't see loose threads or seems coming apart. It looks like it will last through all his spells and incantations.

The only thing my son thinks is missing is a Gryffindor tie. We'll have to go buy that. Great costume!

Thanks for all the other reviews as the size was a main concern for me. I wanted my daughter to have the look like the actors in the movie having the long robe (It is about four inches over her knees). She is 8 years old and average height. I bought the entire costume as it was a great value. She is going to be Hermione but I thought she would enjoy the other items as well. The glasses are of great quality and quite realistic. The wand is very durable and realistic also. I recommend this product for sure and would buy it again if my other daughter chooses to be a HP character in the future.

My son is nine and loved this costume. There are two problems however. The robe is a bit small (especially in arm length) and the clasp that keeps the robe together does not stay in place-keeps coming apart.

My son wore this costume for Halloween, but still dresses up in it just to play. The quality was better than expected, especially for a Halloween Costume. And it was much cheaper than buying each piece individually. I did pick up a Harry Potter Scarf and black hair spray from a local party store to complete the costume.

Bought this for a smaller sized 8 year old. Fits perfect. Robe is not too long in the arms, goes almost to the floor on length. Glasses look adorable. Good purchase. If your child is a Harry Potter fan you can't go wrong. 5 stars for fun & educational value (using imagination). 4 stars for durable - I'm sure the glasses will get bent if not careful. For price I was pleased.

I like how you get everything in one package. My son went crazy when it came. He is 8 and slender for his age and it just fit him. I would not recommend it for kids older than that. The cloak is thin, but that is to be expected considering the price. The frames are metal, so they are very realistic. My only complaint was with the glasses; there is a scratch on the lens. It is outside his field of view. Others have said they had problems with the clasp, but for us that wasn't the case.

I bought this for my son for his Halloween 2011 trick-o-treat cover-up. I bought it based on the quality reviews on Amazon, and it turned out those excellent reviews on this Harry Potter costume kit were accurate and useful; so I would say, go for it if you are looking for these features:
1) For a fairly recent Harry Potter fan, age between 7 and 9 (my son is 8 but he is kind of small size)
2) The robe itself is light and comfortable but not to stand very cold weather; it was perfect for a November night in southern weather.
3) They look cool and real.

My son had a blast with it and his neighbors could easily identify from afar, "Harry Potter is coming!", even he carried a big pumpkin basket that was not part of the Harry act.

I was really happy to get this costume as a package, saving a lot! The robe is thin jersey material but it is a costume and still looks good. And the glasses are great. We added on the tie and the colors match nicely with the Griffindor crest. I thought we had to have the fun wand but it is not really practical for trick or treating. Love the free shipping with this purchase, too.
