Details + measurements,

As sewing does not daunt me - I sew nearly every Halloween costume I buy, including my kid's - I finally purchased this costume after playing the "will it fit me" game for a couple of weeks. Here is my attempt to help other women avoid this nightmare, including lots of measurements.
Notes: I know the package says it's Adult sized 10-14, but in reality, it's teen-sized 10-14. If you can still shop in the Junior department, you should be okay. The costume is actually a lot better quality than I expected. The diamonds need to be repainted, but the fabric is great, the zipper seems pretty durable and it's ridiculously comfortable. My gloves matched my costume perfectly, although they are small. As reported by others, the seams on the outside of the hat ARE sewn inside-out and the 'ears' need stuffing. The elastic on the mask is too short, the elastic on the collar is too long, and the boot covers look stupid. But honestly, these things are actually very minimal and easy to fix; as detailed as this assembly-line costume is, you really can't beat a $50 price tag and a little sewing, considering it would cost at least $300 to pull it off in Cosplay quality. And don't kid yourself - this costume IS form fitting to the nth degree, no matter what size it is. It's like walking around in long underwear, so if you're modest, don't buy it. Also you WILL need special undergarments: a body-shaper to eliminate pantylines and a good push-up bra are an absolute must, and a wig-cap is also essential. The numbers: Here is me: I am 5'7", I weigh 127lbs, and my measurements are Chest: 38" (36B), Waist: 29", Hips: 39". I'm pretty little, but I am far from stick-thin; I have a decent-sized butt/legs and I've had a baby. I am exactly between a Ladies size 6 and size 8, and the Medium fits me pretty well. My inseam is 30" (crotch to anklebone) and the costume reaches an inch above my ankles. If you're tall or wearing extremely low-topped shoes, you will need properly matched socks. Not only am I a bit tall, but also what they call long-waisted, and the bodysuit (torso) part of the costume is short. When I buy bodysuit/leotard type items, I have to buy what is often called "long torso" style. My measurement from neck to crotch is 31" and the costume, from shoulder to crotch, measures about 28 1/2", unstretched. When I put the costume on, it stretches vertically, causing an unflattering overstretched shapeless sack look. (However, to its credit, even at nearly three inches too short in the torso, I bent over to touch my toes and nothing tore, not even the zipper.) I lengthened it with some creative sewing (utilizing the fabric from the boot covers) but if you're long-waisted, can't sew and don't know anyone who does, I don't recommend it. I repainted the diamonds on the bodysuit with regular old craft paint. Re-sewed the backwards seam on the hat. The 'ears' contain a tiny (worthless) sheet of foam rubber which I removed and replaced with a generous amount of Poly-fill stuffing. I was actually kind of impressed with the hat, as I have waist-length hair, but it looks real good with a wig cap. The wristbands are a little loose, but my wrists are a tiny 5 3/4". I sewed the wristbands onto the sleeves to prevent them flopping up and down my arm. Also hemmed the nap, as the satin has a tendency to fray. The gloves are indeed teeny, probably a child's large. I have average hands - my palm is about 3 1/4" across - but really long fingers, 7 1/2" from wrist to the tip of my middle finger. Still, the gloves fit, albeit tightly, and though I'd like them to be longer near the wrist, they do come down past my palms. The black one was sewn rather carelessly around the thumb, but once I re-did the seam properly, I could wear it. The boot covers look dumb and probably don't fit anything larger than an American Size 7. Having already planned out my shoes and knowing I would be using the fabric from the boot covers to 'fix' my bodysuit, I put them on for a laugh over my big ol' Size-9 loafers and wound up breaking half the elastic. The elastic on the mask is too short even for my 10-year-old, but it's easy to replace. The mask itself is also too large for my face and a bit weird looking, but it's made out of velour with this backing that keeps everything from fraying if trimmed with scissors. Sounds like a lot, but I re-iterate: It's a REALLY elaborate costume and well worth such minor alterations for only fifty bucks.

Could be better, could be worse,

After I took the costume out of the package, I was pretty surprised -- It's actually not too bad of quality fabric. Usually Halloween costumes are all slippery and static-y, but this is a kind of stretchy crushed velvet. Anyway, here are some costume details:
- Cowl: Well, if you've read other reviews on here, you've probably heard that the cowl is less than satisfactory. I honestly disagree. The cowl is very nice, though some minor alterations (possibly putting wires into the stalks to make them stick out more; and you need to wear a wig cap) would make it better. - Mask: Very small, so I couldn't really try it on, but I could tell that the fabric was of the itchy variety. It would be a good idea to either buy a new mask entirely or just replace the elastic to make it fit better. - Collar: Now for this, the elastic in the back is a bit too long. Removing the elastic and adding a fastener is a good idea. This will also get rid of the problem of your neck showing, as it will be pulled higher. - Bracelet-things: These are different from the picture, but they're really cute, and the elastic wasn't too tight at all for me. - Gloves: They're a bit of a tight fit, but then again, I have man-hands... heh... They'll probably be okay for everyone else. - Booties: These are not ideal for those with big feet. They are made for about size 8 and down, I would guess, as my shoes were way to big for them to slip over (I wear an 11). Maybe it's just my shoes. I also recommend someone else putting them on for you. - Bodysuit: The reason I recommend this is because I bent over to put the booties on myself, and the seam at the end of the zipper ripped! I can sew it closed, but... it worries me if I can make it through Trick-or-Treating without another rip. The material is not itchy, which is great, and it doesn't ride up anywhere either. If you have long legs like me, you might want to get some red and black socks, as they don't pull down all the way to the top of the booties. And don't wear printed/colorful underwear! Although the see-through factor is slight, you can still tell what kind of undies you're wearing! I'm probably going to buy some Spanx (cut-off leggings) in a skin-tone to hide this. Hopefully you've gotten a better idea of the costume now... I put three stars because it needs a few touch-ups, but they're relatively easy. If you are looking for a VERY accurate Harley Quinn costume, one for a Comic Convention, for example, I don't recommend buying this. It is a very fun costume, but if you're going for accuracy, the colors are switched on this one, and are different front-and-back. There is a dancewear website that has a hooded harlequin costume in the appropriate colors WITH the diamonds that I will find for you right now: http://www.riversedgedancewear.com/dihaulun.html Although it is expensive, it is very accurate and you can also customize it to your size. Thank you for reading!

I LOVE IT but...,

As far as accuracy goes, the colors are reversed, so if you are very fussy, make your own. Less inclined to nitpick? It's a GREAT costume. Very sexy and sleek, and Harley Quinn has always been a highly recognizable fan-favorite among anyone who grew up in the 90s watching the old Batman cartoons.
However, this is not the most durably-made costume. As soon as I tried it on, a seam broke in the back. I ordered it in small, though, because I was too late to get any mediums, so that may be my fault. Still, I thought I would share that this should be treated like a body-stocking- ie: roll it up like pantyhose before you put it on your arms and legs. DO NOT tug on seams or particularly hard anywhere for that matter. The material WILL tear if you are not gentle. I still feel this was a worthwhile purchase and well worth the almost $60. As long as you take good care of it, it should serve you well. Also, I felt I should mention that the headpiece is not stuffed, so the jester hat will be flat if you don't have a lot of hair to fill it up. Stuff it with cotton balls or something if you are lacking in hair. Oh, and don't worry about the sleeve ruffles. It's true they aren't EXACTLY what is pictured, but the ones you get are actually more accurate. Accessories all fit well, except the eyemask is god-awful- too tight and pretty ugly in my opinion. Luckily these are cheap ($2, really), and I had one laying around anyway. You could also paint one on your face in a pinch, I suppose. Ugh, I know this all sounds negative, but I really do LOVE the costume. I'm very excited and will proudly wear it to my school's costume contest. I just wanted everyone's questions to be answered, give honest feedback and cautions. Whatever problems I had, I found them to be VERY workable. It's comfortable (I LOVE the velvety material the whole thing is made of) and looks great when it's all put together.

Misleading Picture, false advertising,
By Head piece - the "antenna's" do not pop up and out like the picture, it flops down "flat" because not enough stuffing, hence further stuffing needed from own source; on the red "antenna" the stitching isn't good as one section isn't sewn down properly so there's a hole, hence having to stitch it together so the stuffing won't come out; the black half is not the same size as the red half, so when worn it's slightly crooked; black rim around the face area (not seen in the picture) was not sewn all the way down firmly, the end was loose out so it is noticeable to see where the end was hence having to sew that down Eye mask - the elastic on the eye mask was much too small, only fits a <7-10 year old child making the mask squeeze across the eyes and not seeing through properly, hence had to change the elastic White collar - the elastic was much too big that it dangled and not sit back properly, hence had to cut the elastic and put on velcro so it's easier to put on and off and still sat nicely back up on the chest/shoulder area Jumpsuit - the stitching around the collar where the hem was came loose even before it was opened from the packaging, hence tried hand sewing it back down but couldn't and had to have it removed; red diamonds aren't red as they appear, quite blackish red and does not stand out as seen in the picture White cufflinks - elastic on one was much bigger then the other hence had to sew the looser one in so it wouldn't flop too much on the wrist compared to the other Shoe Covers - only items not having a problem...YET! plus the gloves The quality of the sewing is very dodgy and not particular. The outfit looked rushed and careless and highly lacks the attention to detail which was much too noticeable. This should not be charged the value it is being charged especially with the delivery cost on top of it closely being around $35US

Cute, but hope you know how to sew.,
This review is from: Adult Harley Quinn Costume
I guess the first thing that should be said about this item is, it is a costume and it is produced for a mass market. That being said, quality is not what DC Comic Girls had in mind for this frock. I guess maybe since I was in an industry that paid very special attention to craftmanship, this is why the seams bothered me so much on this garment. The first thing that I noticed was that the seams were so quickly produced on a surger, they were only done to hold the garment together. In laymans terms..you move the wrong way and you are ripping the side or the butt out of this thing. If you sew, this really isn't a big deal. Just reinforce the seams and move on with your day. If you don't sew, well..be careful.
The mask that was also included with this frock, leaves a bit to be desired. It runs very small. Once again, stick some elastic on the back; and there ya go. Overall, I think the costume is adorable and it looks great on my child. Yes, I said child. She is a very volumpious 12 year old and the adult medium just fits her. If you are over 125lbs and have a rather curvey figure, you might want to consider another costume. This one is made for a rather short individual. She is 5'1 and it just fit her. The accessories are okay. They work. However, the neck ruff needs to be attached with some sort of velcro to keep it in place and the hat isn't long enough to tuck into the rest of the flextard. Honestly, it is an okay costume. I think it would work for a costume and not much else.

This costume will let the wearer dress up as Harley Quinn, but it is not perfect.
I will say that I love the fabric choice of the jumpsuit, hood, and boot covers. I also like that the costume comes with all the accessories (sans makeup, of course) necessary for wearing it. There are a few nitpicks, though. The "red" glove that came with the costume does not match the color or texture of the red fabric in the jumpsuit. Also, the mask provided is extremely tight, and given the style of this mask, a buyer would be wise to purchase a domino mask separately. However, there is one critical flaw with this costume. The pattern colors mirror rather than match those of the original character. I wouldn't mind this if the picture of the model wearing the costume had reflected the reversed color scheme, but the discrepancy between the picture and the actual product is quite glaring. In the end, this is a decent costume if the wearer wants to dress up as Harley Quinn on a budget. However, if the purchaser is more concerned with how accurate the costume is to the character, it may be wise to weigh the cost of a higher quality against cost of this costume before making a purchase.

A win if you can't sew.,

First of all, I just received this in the mail and I ordered it less than a week ago (with standard shipping)- pretty impressive. I got it about an hour ago and I still have it on if that tells you anything. I'm 5'1 and 98 lbs with measurements 32D 23 32 and I bought the extra small which surprisingly fit very well even for the weird body type I have.
About the costume- Bodysuit: nice material (keeps you warm), the arms and legs are good length, the red diamonds were kind of faded black-red and cracked so I'm probably going to add my own, and I wanted it to be a little tighter than what it is but I can't expect too much with being tiny. Overall- very flattering Collar: I may just make my own, the elastic is very long and its poor quality and cheap material takes away from the suit Headpiece: Mine had a lot of stuffing in the ears(?) so I may stick in a wire to tame them down a bit Boot coverings: actually cover my shoes (size 6) pretty well but they can look baggy too. Mask- toss out= too big For what I paid for I'm impressed it was shipped to me in such a quick time, that they give you so many pieces with the costume, and that it actually fit my body. I'm a huge Harley Quinn fan and honestly I doubt many people would know the colors are switched when you go to parties or go out. If anything people will be wondering why a woman isn't showing off more skin with her costume haha. Can't wait for Halloween now that I'm not going to be Catwoman for the umpteenth time in a row.

remember its a costume,
I wanted this costume for a really long time but didnt buy it because of bad reviews.. Well I finally caved.
The reviews are right but fixable. I am 5'4", 110 and a small was pushing it. I had the same problem with the bodysuit ripping right under the zipper, as soon as I bent over. The cap was made poorly. But this isnt cosplay its a halloween costume. Few more problems but its still a very cool costume. If i could go back a week Id still buy it but one size bigger haha.

Unfortunatly, in the costume world this is a "cheap" costume. If you haven't purchased it yet and really want a nice costume go with the more expensive ones. Besides, you'll end up spending more money and time making adjustments and in the end be disappointed anyway. All-in-all; the body suit is too short, the mask and hood too small, the neck piece WAY to big, and to top it off the material couldn't be cheaper. Whatever they used for measurements wasn't human. Trust me, don't bother!!
