I got the large suit and I am 6 ft 6(about 2 meters) and about 230 lbs. The height was good, but it was kind of snug around the chest. I wore a baseball cap backwards underneath the head, that made it fit better and also was cooler because the rubber wasn't against my skin.

This wookie was a huge hit at the costume party I went to. I would recommend that you practice making wookie sounds for at least a few days before hand. This was during the middle of the summer, but I didn't get unbearably hot unless if I started dancing. The gloves are all rubber so my hands and face were kind of sweaty. I would recommend drinking beer, or something out of a hard bottle because with your newly found wookie strength you will crush a lesser plastic cup. The bag on the bandoleer is great for holding wallet, camera, and condoms, because if you are wearing this you are getting laid.

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is some of the buttons were popping off the back. Now that could be the result of my state and using the bathroom frequently, but that would involve me taking responsibility and then I would have to give it 5 stars.

I got this for Halloween 2010 and it was a huge hit. It is very lifelike. It is big, hot and heavy but that is to be expected. You will probably need someone to help you put it on. The head is a bit loose and unless I wear a baseball cap underneath to hold it steady, it is difficult to keep lined up with my eyes.

It is expensive, so plan on wearing it every year for the rest of your life to get you money's worth!

Not sure why the head piece is so enormously over sized?? We will certainly have to make adjustments with the head, but overall the costume is really nice!

I bought the XL version of this costume, because I have broad shoulders, and wanted to make sure it was going to fit. It did fit, but there was a ton of room in the waist, so if you've got a big gut, you probably have a good chance of fitting into this thing.

I think the hair and everything looks pretty realistic, but the hair is sewn into the underlying fabric in rows that are a couple inches apart, and the underlying fabric is a light tan color. This results in the underlying fabric standing out from the hair, and giving the appearance of bald patches. The costume makers could have made the underlying material the same color as the hair, which would have blended in better, and would have reduced the stark contrast between the color of the hair and the color of the "skin." When I have time, I plan to manually die the underlying fabric a more appropriate color.

The back is held together with buttons... all of which broke the first night I wore the costume. Granted, I didn't expect the quality of the costume to be all that great, considering it's made in China, but I thought maybe sewing buttons that could hold up wouldn't have been that challenging of a task. Obviously, I was wrong, so I will have to re-sew all the buttons on myself.

Lastly, the mask has a plastic piece attached to the mouth and nose area on the inside of the mask. I liked this idea, but the piece of plastic in the mask I got was a bit bent up, and it ended up cutting and scraping my face a bit. One more thing I will have to personally modify to make the costume of a higher quality.

I realize this probably doesn't seem like the most positive review, but at a base level, I am satisfied with this product. Yours may or may not require additional modification like mine, and I feel you should be aware of that before you make your decision.

I guess my review will just reiterate what others have have already said. Sure the costume is cool...well not if you are wearing it in room above 65 degrees... but there are a few flaws. 1.) Buttons that fasten up the back for the main suit? Good luck taking a pee without help! (take note beer drinkers!) 2.) The shoe covers are basically worthless and will make you trip if nothing else. 3.) Good luck eating with it on out getting long stringy hairs in your food and those around you. 4.) If you are planning on dancing in this think again unless you plan on sweating a lot and may be smelling like a real Wookie! 5.) Plan on brushing this thing out a lot, otherwise you will look a Wookie with mange. The mask is HUGE!!! So much so that even wearing a baseball hat backwards still was hard to keep the mask on straight, worse with any kind of vision out of it. I eventually resided to wearing a set of ski goggles (Hoth Wookie?) just to keep the mask on and at a fixed position (see image).

Ok that aside...i did like the working Wookie man purse, that fastens, which you can store things you need like a wallet and phone.

After paying $200 for this I guess I know what I'm wearing for the next several Halloweens. =)

After reading some of the reviews I purchased this item for Halloween and other events. The quality of the mask is poor. The little amount of hair that is on the headpiece makes you feel like Chewbacca needs to take a trip to the Rogaine store. He looks like a freaking wookie with mange. Secondly, the way the hair is glued to the nose looks like a low quality job. Not what you would expect if you are paying hundreds of dollars for a costume. I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for an authentic looking chewbacca. You are better off investing in making your own. I am going to have find ways to make the bald spots disappear and not really feeling I got my money's worth. I would not buy this product again.
