This is misleading, since these are actually two very different products.

One robe is made with black fleece with red trim meant to suggest lining, and a real embroidered Gryffindor crest. The hood is fully lined with the red material. It is very good quality for the money. My niece put it on as soon as she unwrapped it in the afternoon, and did not take it off until bedtime. She wears it all the time and it is holding up great.

The second is just junk, very thin and flimsy material, crest is printed on, red trim is on the edges of the robe only, not in the hood.

Out of the box, the first robe needed some serious ironing and the red lining was not always stitched in well, but those are the only complaints. I would not bother at all with the second cheaper version. I looked at it in the store and would not pay $5.00 for it, let alone $20.

Make sure you are buying the one that says it has the "embroidered crest" - otherwise, you are getting seriously ripped off.

This is a very nicely made robe of warm fleece (although my daughter said she wished she had the cheaper, thinner version like her friend!). The sizes are off, though, so although I assumed a medium would fit my 9-year-old daughter, it was too small. I returned it to get a large, even though that sounded way too big. It fits great.

After reading all of the reviews for Harry Potter gear for the kids, I was expecting a shabby piece of cloth with spray paint on it. Perhaps expecting the worst made getting a nice, high-quality item that much better. And the bottom line is that the robe made my daughter amazingly happy. She wore it for days as she watched the movies a few more times than sanity should allow for. It looks the part and made her warm on the inside and outside. It does exactly what a kid's costume item should do.

Happy with the quality of this, but for the price, it should come with a wand or a built in collar/tie. It does come with a little clasp. Leave room in the Halloween budget for a wand, button up white shirt & tie, if you don't have them. We were worried at first, because we had ordered the appropriate size (8) for our 8 year old daughter, but when we opened the box, the package said for ages 5 - 7. It is plenty big enough/long enough though. I think it would be dragging the ground on a 5 year old.

We were very pleased with this version of the Harry Potter Children's Robe. It was worth the price. It was made nice for a Halloween costume. (a nice fleece like material) My son loves it. The only thing that didn't work was the clip to hold it together, but that was not a big deal and an easy fix.

I usually make our costumes so they are quality, but this costume is totally up to par. My daughter wanted to be Hermione for Halloween and this nice fleece costume was perfectly cute and warm. I did order the large 10-14 for my 8 year old because I read these ran a little small. That wasn't the case. It was pretty huge and I had to hem it a good 5" or so, but it was fine once I did that and she can wear it for years to come.

I bought this for my grandson for Christmas and he loved it. He didn't take it off all day. It was much nicer fabric than I expected and put together very well. I also got him the glasses and the broom and he had a blast.

I purchased this robe in a size small for my nephew's 4th birthday and it fits him perfectly (he's roughly 52" tall). The robe is made of a nice, thick fleece material and the school crest sewn on looks nice, not cheap.

There are three small downsides when considering this purchase:
*The clasp that comes with it to keep the robe closed is a separate piece altogether and my nephew's clasp falls off constantly at the slightest movement. My mother is going to sew on a new clasp that will actually stay attached to the cloak.
*The second downside is that after only an hour or so of wearing the robe, it began to have threads coming undone at the bottom.
*The third is that the material is very clingy and within a few minutes the robe had a lot of dog hair stuck to it.

Overall, though, this is a nice robe for make-believe playtime and it will wear nicely into the Fall and Winter due to the heavy material. My nephew absolutely loves it!

I bought this robe for my son who is a big Harry Potter Fan. The robe is well constructed, though maybe a bit thick and warm. It is made of some type of fleece material. Though warm, my son wore it nearly a week straight! In June! I am pleased with the construction. The only thing that does not hold well are the "buttons" that clamp on to the robe. They come off too easily which frustrates my son as he wants to look like Harry, Ron and Hermione. Otherwise, it is a very good deal and I expect it to last through some rough play. I bought the glasses also and they seem to be holding together as well. I did not buy the tie as I was afraid that my son would get it caught and it would become a noose. I have bought clip on ties instead.

We purchased this robe for my daughter for Halloween (to be Hermione). The robe is very durable being a 'fleece like' fabric. It was a lot smaller than we expected. I probably should have returned for a bigger size (she is 9 and we bought one that was to fit 10-12). It was small in the shoulders. Overall - for a Halloween costume - great quality. One that she will really love (and so will my son next year). We did almost miss the clips to hook it all together at the neck - it wasn't obvious to us (they were separate in the bag).
