My son loves pirates so I decided to get a pirate costume for him! Looking a lot, finally, I found this beautiful Pirates of the Seven Seas Child's Captain Black costume so I immediately ordered it from Amazon!!! I was really really really excited waiting for the costume and when this finally arrived, I was SOOOOOOOO disappointed!!!! I thought it was going to be as nice as the one in the picture!!! I got an ugly pirate costume, poor quality, terrible design!!!! It looks like the sellers made it very fast and they didn't care for design and some details shown in the picture. The picture shows a cute and very well design pirate jacket and a cute vest with nice BUTTONS and I got a MESS of jacket with an attached vest with velcro instead nice buttons (like the picture)The boots are attached to the pants and they do not look like they fold over like its shown!!! This costume doesn't look exactly like the picture and its a poor quality costume, the hat is huge!!! I'm going to try to fix it and make it looks a little bit like the one in the PICTURE (I'm going to try!!!!)
Costumes from Walmart look better and nicer than this one from Amazon!!! I got a Princess Pirate for my daughter from Walmart and it definitely looks 100% nicer than Pirates of the Seven Seas Child's Captain Black costume from Amazon!!! I just received this costume - the quality of fabrication is terrible, the threads are coming from all seams, and the seams themselves are not straight, so it looks really bad on the child. On the picture the vest has buttons - the costume I got has velcro, stitched on the angle. The picture has the nice leathery look of the fabric, in reality it is the cheapest looking stuff.
I will return it, for the 39 I paid (no discount for size small) it looks very cheap and poorly put together.

My son loves pirate anything and was determined to be one for halloween. i searched everywhere but again returned to amazon for the best quality and value. My son wears a 4T and it will fit him just fine after we put some warm clothes underneath. I didnt notice that it doesnt come with an under shirt but thats not a big deal since he will probably have a snow suit under it.

Although I have read the previous reviews on this item, I have decided to order it still, as it was the nicest pirate costume I could find for my 5 year old son. Pirates of the Seven Seas Child's Captain Black Costume, Small Upon receiving the costume, I started inspecting the item bearing in mind the previous customer comments. Here is what I noticed:
- The costume was crumpled in the packaging, leaving it looking very messy. I will have to remedy to this before Halloween, I do believe the fabric will not take well to an iron.
- Except for the way the item was shoved in its bag during packaging, the hat was as I had expected, as well as the attached bandana.
- I new that the undershirt was not included, which is fine.
- The Jacket is of sufficient quality for a Halloween party and candy collection (very crumpled, however). I had no black staining on my hands, as some have previously mentioned.
- The attached vest was disappointing in its quality as well as its lack of buttons. Only velcro holds it in place, and decorative buttons, as seen in the picture, would have been a very nice addition, although not necessary. I will sew my own before Halloween.
- The pants and attached boots are as I had expected them to be, abeit a little on the cheap side.
All in all, cleaned up and straightened up, this costume will be a fun addition to my son's dress up trunk, as well as serve its purpose for Halloween. I would NOT pay this price for a similar item again. I do recommend this however, to someone who is crafty enough to enhance it, yet, then again, the price tag is a bit excessive.

So upset that I bought this, I paid a good amount compared to the price for other pirate outfits and it is so cheap it turned my hands black and my son's arms, hands and face. The jacket looks like leather, but it's made of some cheap carbon like material that stains your skin as you touch it. Everything about it was awful and cheap, do not waste your money, you are better off by drawing the outfit on your child than by purchasing this one. Even your local rite aid or walgreen's has better quality costumes. I want my money back!!
