This company does not allow full price returns if a product is removed from the package. SO how would we know if a toy that has to be extended is bent if we don't take it out? Again, a dissappointed little boy when I explained this to him. Upon my 2nd communication, I was offered something like 1/2 of what it cost, plus a 20% re-stocking fee. Do the math... The point is you take back what isn't right- these were my son's words. So, we ended up keeping the bent Darth Vader light saber, and, no he doesn't play with it because its B-E-N-T. The kicker? In the envelope with the light saber, a full 8x10 paper, large font request to ONLY review with 5 stars as anything less is not good for their business. Yeah, and so is the completely ridiculous return policy.
But onto the product itself, these are indeed a costume prop with no play value at all. I actually ended up breaking the blades off the lightsabers pretty easily (which is probably good, they're ugly as heck and are a bit bent). But the hilt itself is a bit stronger, by stronger I mean not easily taken apart with breaking it into tiny pieces.
The switch is a little flimsy as well and at least on one of them the switch doesn't go all the way and sometimes needs held to stay on. It's something I'm bound to fix as my project pushes forward.
However I do have to say, the hilt itself is just magnificent. Much better than the one I had as a child when I dressed up like Vader for Halloween. It has quite a few details as well, even a part that lights up on the side. My only issue with it is that there's way too much lettering on the thing (something which will get either sanded or puttied up prior to painting).
Another thing to bear in mind is that the hilt itself is quite large, at least adult-sized with a kid-sized blade... just odd, but oh'well. =P

In spite of the bad reviews, I decided to purchase this, because I only needed it for one night as a costume prop. Read morePublished 7 hours ago by Patty Kay
These are only prop toys. My sons broke them within a day. =(Published 3 days ago by ExpressoMommyof5
The light doesn't reach the end of the lightsaber. I know it's cheap but I hoped that the whole thing would at least be illuminated.Published 4 days ago by Sasha
unfortunatelly one of the three light sabers I bought to my kids, arrived broken. But the product is good and the two other kids were very happy with them. Read morePublished 6 days ago by Marcos Aurelio Rodrigues Pico
