1.0 out of 5 stars Too big for cuticles
These cuticle scissors should be renamed just scissors as they are way too big a blade to cut cuticles on women in my opinion.

I had a great pair of nail/cuticle scissors from Taiwan -- they were razor sharp and would cut nails evenly. However, I lost 'em -rats! This is the best substitute one could hope for -- Each handle is a single, elegant half-turn helix that comes together neatly into a single cylindrical shaft. The metal has that high carbon stainless steel satin finish guaranteed acid-proof, balanced. The blade is sharp but not like some crazy bit of burr from cut sheet metal -- the tips are not honed to needles or anything. The cut is precise and flush. You cannot distinguish the feel of the cut edge of the nail from a filed and polished edge. No bits of partly munched keratin that adheres to nails cut with cheap clippers or discount store "nail scissors". I'm really glad I purchased these scissor despite my trepidations about buying before trying. I would recommend these to anybody interested in fine personal grooming instruments.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Scissors, May 7, 2007
This review is from: Rubis Stainless Steel Cuticle Scissors (Health and Beauty)
Was looking for a new pair of scissors since my last pair broke after many years of service. Found the Rubis nail scissors on the Amazon site. I checked the reviews and note that people who puchased these scissors were generally vey happy. Even though I thought these scissors were a little pricy I made the purchase. After receiving and trying these scissors I was astonished. These scissors are absolutely wonderful. They are very sharp and cut the nails with no difficulty. I highly recommend these scissors. As a matter of fact I was so impressed with the Rubis brand that I went ahead and bought other products they make such as the tweezers and nose and ear trimmers.
If you are looking for a pair of nail scissors give these a try. I guarantee you will not be disapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really sharp scissors at last!, August 24, 2006
This review is from: Rubis Stainless Steel Cuticle Scissors (Health and Beauty)
I've been through every brand of nail scissors sold in the chain stores, and none of them was sharp enough to cut rather than tear. This pair of Rubis scissors is sharp enough to trim cuticles without ripping and strong enough to cut through nails without breaking. Nice product, worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice!, September 7, 2011

I must admit this is my first pair of "fancy" nail scissors, I've never spent more than $6 for a pair, so maybe I'm just dazzled by a whole different level of manicuring, but this is wonderful!! Everything comes off cleanly in one clip, no more ragged cuticles, and the tips work nicely both as a cuticle lifting tool and under-nail cleaner. They seem well made, and I'm definitely never going back to drugstore scissors again. I've only had them for a few days so can't say how well they hold up, but at the moment I have nothing negative to say about them.

Sharp. Comfy handles. Attractive. Durable. VERY thin blades. Nicely made.

Since I discovered these some six or so years ago, I have a collection of unused cuticle scissors by other makers. Rubis blows them outta the water. Stay sharp for a long time before needed sharpening.

My husband helps me with my pedicure, and these are the ONLY scissors he likes using on my feet. I use them to cut my fingernails, too, they're strong enough (though very thin and meant for cuticles).

LMC is an authorized distributor of RUBIS, so it's safe to get from them.

thumbs up

I purchased a pair these for my husband who is particular about his grooming tools. He jealously guards them, and that speaks for itself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good scissors but maybe not worth the price, August 28, 2008
This review is from: Rubis Stainless Steel Cuticle Scissors (Health and Beauty)
These scissors are pretty good, but the blades are larger than I expected, more like toenail scissors. They are too clumsy for cuticle trimming, I would prefer a smaller/finer blade. Quality of product is very nice though, definitely better than a cheap drugstore scissor, but I don't know if they're really worth the high price.

3.0 out of 5 stars These were just "OK" - not what I was hoping for, February 14, 2011

These have a decent cut, but they aren't precision cut scissors and I expected them to be for this price. A bit disappointed in the quality of the scissors. They don't make them like they used to.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very good, November 20, 2010

I swallowed the high price thinking I was getting great scissors. Not so. They leave a rough cut on my thumbnails and do not cut easily at all. Toe nails worse. I feel ripped off.
