Turkey Ham!!!,

This review is from: Ruby's Low-Fat Soul-Food Cookbook (Paperback)
This is not a bad book... there are some good recipes.Unfortunately, a lot of the dishes that traditionally have hamhock (or other piece-o-piggy) just had turkey instead. I was hoping for something more clever and tasty than that, I guess. This is a goog cookbook if you are looking for non-pig dishes.

This review is from: Ruby's Low-Fat Soul-Food Cookbook (Paperback)
This book is a great resource for not only some great recipes but also helpful information for tightening up the nutritional profile of any Soul Food recipe. The instructions on how to make a fat-free roux alone are priceless. If you want the taste you love without the excess fat, salt etc. Buy this book.

What a great cookbook. The recipes are easy. The ingredients are in everyone's pantry. To make it even easier, the author even gives her own recipes for the seasoning blends she uses. And it's low fat! If you like to cook, you should have this book.
