    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Rudebox Pt 1 (Audio CD)
Less than a year after the release of his last hit album "Intensive Care", Britain's devilishly handsome bad boy Robbie Williams is back with "Rudebox" - a new single that marks his foray into musical territory previously uncharted by him.

"Rudebox" features Williams rapping to a dance-infused electronic sound. At its very core, the track is musically void and is replete with ridiculously inane lyrics ("TKmax costs less, Jackson looks a mess"). The song's 30-second melodic chorus serves as the only silver lining to what some musical listeners may perceive as an unnecessary and unfortunate departure from a sound typically associated with Williams. In fact, many people might even think of "Rudebox" as a lame attempt on behalf of Williams to capitalize on his star power and may dismiss him altogether.

Yet, the song possesses an unexplainable ability to grow on listeners very quickly. Furthermore, its strong dance groove makes it a fantastic candidate for the nightclub circuit and will probably be the source of guilt-ridden self-indulgence on the dancefloor. Die-hard fans will undoubtedly be pleased. That being said, the appeal of Robbie Williams' latest musical offering is highly unlikely to be as enduring as his earlier material but for those that thrive on immediate gratification, "Rudebox" just might be their flavor of the moment.
