This is the first cd put out from the great Buju B. He sets the tone of his work and style with songs like Stamina Daddy and Quick. This album is the one that first Buju on the dancehall sence. The amazing thing about the album is he was only a teen at the time.

"Rudeboys Inna Ghetto" is so REAL!. Realness oozes from every song. Some of the songs are so great, that their really GREAT. This is a masterpiece. Look at the wonderful poetry. "Buju Banton was jiven wid da boys out on the corner, den he went to the 7-11 and stole a corn dog." "Corner" and "corn dog" rhyme. Well, almost. Anyway, the CD has a lot of real words. It's the greatest thing since the discovery of penicillin. This is the best album of all time, not just of all time, but of really ALL TIME. I'd take Buju Banton to a deserted island. I'd trade my pancreas for this album.I agree with that song about reparations: everybody should get a free Lexus. It's only fair. Other songs are sad, but these songs are really SAD. If you want some music that'll make you feel really GOOD too, get "Rudeboys Inna Ghetto." It changed my life. I mean really CHANGED my life. It brought peace and harmony to Western Civilization. And look at that Football Williams guy. All he did was smash some guy's head with a cinder block, and everyone gets all upset. Excuse me? "Can't we just all get along?" It saved children in Ethiopia from starvation. They weren't just hungry, they were really HUNGRY before they heard this album. All that he's saying is "The power hungry ethnocentric and zenophobic European Caucasian race has oppressed minorities for the past millennium." Give peace, brotherhood, harmony and smack a really big CHANCE. The album cover says "Explicit Lyrics." I'm not sure about all that, but I can tell you quit honestly that this CD has a lot of curse words too. I checked "Keep me anonymous" because I didn't want my friends to know that I've been listening to illicit lyrics. Can you still vote? If you do, I have just 2 words: Thanks a lot. |
