Originally released in 1957, this fondly remembered Gene Autry Christmas album features "America's Favorite Singing Cowboy" performing 12 classic Christmas songs, including "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)," and "Jingle Bells." This album has been unavailable for over 20 years, and due to fan demand and the nostalgic value of the original LP, it is now issued on CD for the first time ever. Gene's spoken introductions interject interesting stories about the songs to make this unique Christmas album a very personal listening experience. Includes songs not on any other Gene Autry Christmas CD. All tracks are digitally re-mastered from the original tapes, and it features the original album art.

My parents had this Christmas album when I was little, and I was so happy to find it on CD! It brought back wonderful memories of sitting by the hi-fi with my younger brothers and sister, wondering how many days were left until Christmas and Santa Claus. My three young daughters LOVED singing along to "Here Comes Santa Claus," and "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" this year. If you like old-fashioned Christmas music, or have small children, you'll love this CD.

This album was an all time favorite when I was growing up. My sisters and brothers all adored it. The CD version is identical to what the album was. I think there are a couple more songs on it, but they are every bit as good as the rest of the album. Anyone buying this album for a little reminiscing will love it!

I was 10 years old when I got my first record player that Christmas and along with an album (vinyl) called Gene Autry - Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. Sleigh bells played on side 2 and after the first listening, the essence of Christmas was so clear. After many years of playing the LP every Christmas, it became so scratchy and worn. You can hear the pops and crackles and it is just so gol-durn awful to listen to. I never could bring myself to part with it. I still have it after 40 years. The record cover is pretty worn and the label in the middle of the vinyl is streaked with markers. A reminder of my childhood.
Last year, I bought this CD and guess what I listened to first? SLEIGH BELLS!!! So clean and pristine. Tears of joy welled in my eyes...
My mom and dad have been gone for several years now, so every Christmas, I'll pull out this CD and listen to Sleigh Bells and immediately all memories from life and Christmases past comes hurling back. I'm not going to say anymore because I can't see what I'm typing....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

As a child I was given the record and loved it. Years later I used it in my kindergarten classroom at Christmas. My school building burned to the ground on Christmas Day of 1983. I was so devastated to loose the record in the fire. I was thrilled when I saw it available on Amazon. The CD is so great. It brought back so many memories. Thanks so much.

LISTENING TO THIS C.D. MAKES ME THINK OF MY CHILDHOOD SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH MY GRANDPARENTS. OF WHICH WHOM HAVE PAST I EVEN GOT MY SISTER ONE SHE ALSO LOVES IT. SO SIT BACK LISTEN AND REMEMBER. MERYY CHRISTMAS

I still have the original album, beaten up, dusty, scratched-up beyond all listenablilty with the years... and still much beloved. How marvelous to find a CD of all the original songs after all this time!

There ARE drop-outs in the left or right stereo channels occasionally -- especially at the very start of "Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer". This could (and should) have been corrected by mono-izing the track before recording it, since the entire disc is mono anyway (!). This is the reason I've awarded the disc four stars instead of five. Other than this really very minor quibble (after all, I've a soundfile editor available which should take care of that!), this is the BEST Christmas Autry news I've heard -- quite literally! -- in almost FORTY YEARS!!! :)

And finally, this is specifically for "PDMan", who disapproved this album so much -- for God's sake, LIGHTEN UP! The final three pieces on this CD are to be found absolutely nowhere else. They're doing us a FAVOR by releasing them at all! "Noise reduction artifacts"? Jeez, are you SERIOUS!?! First off, I can't hear any; but even if they were loaded with them, I'd forgive it, just to HAVE them AVAILABLE again! Would you really sooner have silence?! Honestly!!!

This has been a favorite of mine since I was little and we listened to this album over and over! I was so excited when I saw it was on CD! The best Christmas album!

I have the album from when I was a child. I bought this for my three year old daughter so she could experience the Christmas excitement. We played this before she went to bed each night. By the time Christmas arrived she knew a lot of the songs. I also took it to my preschool class so they could enjoy it. I had looked all over town for this CD. A local record shop checked into ordering it for me but could not find the exact copy. I was so excited to find this on Amazon.

This was my favorite album as a child. I have looked for it for years and was delighted when Amazon emailed me that it was in their inventory. This CD means Christmas to me. I absolutely love it.
