5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Chesapeake fishing guidance!
This book is extremely helpful to someone who wants to either learn how to fish in the Chesapeake Bay or improve on their current talents and knowledge. The book covers in depth fishing locations, techniques, lures and rigs, and specific information on the main fish you will go after. I highly recommend the book.

I've been fishing the Bay since I was a little boy. The Rudow Guide is truly awesome. A treasure of useful information and easy to read, too. A great guide and a great gift. Go Rudow!

Lenny's book is incredibly accurate and loaded with local knowledge. Very helpful to new fishermen and those already familiar with the Chesapeake. It's a must to be kept onboard every fishing boat on the Chesapeake.

We wouldn't think of leaving for a fishing trip on the bay without this wonderful book tucked into our supplies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Encyclopedia, May 17, 2006
This review is from: Rudow's Guide to Fishing the Chesapeake (Paperback)
Rudow's Guide to Fishing the Chesapeake is an encylopedia for fishing in the Chesapeake Bay. I especially liked the information to help fisherpeople who do not have boats and fish from shores.

"Rudow's Guide to Fishing the Chesapeake" is a fishing gem.
Over 300 pages long, and if you are serious about fishing the world's largest estuary (over 180 miles long) and its tributaries, this book is a "must buy." Published in 2005, it has locations of spots to fish on charts collected from head boat captains and other knowledgeable sources.

The book is divided into three parts - Part 1: Chesapeake Bay Regional Guide in four chapters; Part II regarding Tactics and Tackle, Part III the various game fish of the Bay with identification of 17 different species of fish and their habits. The Table of Contents is a good one but the book could use an index because of the wealth of information served up on a platter for the reader. Use a yellow highlighter and post it note tabs for your favorite parts.

If you would like read an excerpt of Rudow's Guide to Rockfish, a companion book, go to: http://www.geareduppublications.com/freergrtipspix.html
Both books make great gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME GIFT FOR FISHERMEN and WOMEN!!!!!!!, December 12, 2005
By
This review is from: Rudow's Guide to Fishing the Chesapeake (Paperback)
Lenny Rudow made Christmas easy this year. I had a 'fish crazy friend' check out this book for me to see if it is worthy as a gift and now he won't give it back. Nor will he shut up about it. Needless to say, it passed his test. I'm sorry I can't give a more technical review of this book, but I can tell you that I have found the perfect gift for all these crazies that live around the Chesapeake and get up at 4 or 5 am on the weekends!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE CHES USER GUIDE, November 30, 2010

I am nearly 50 and as a military member, move every 18 months- 3 years, so learning local fishing techniques and bodies of water is always a challenge. This book is the BEST resource I have read on fishing such a diverse body of water. User friendly and written to "speak" to beginners through the pro's. The breakdown and easy to follow charts are outstanding. If you don't catch fish after following these tips, perhaps a change in sport is in order.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Chesapeake Bay Fishing Bible, May 13, 2010
This review is from: Rudow's Guide to Fishing the Chesapeake (Paperback)
This book is the bible for fishing the Chesapeake Bay from both land and sea. Mr. Rudow provides detailed charts of each section of the bay (including all of the rivers) to get you on the fish quickly. That alone has helped me save money on fuel since I now know where to go. He even gives suggestions on lures and techniques. You can't beat that!

All of his books are a must read, but if you fish the Chesapeake Bay, this is the book to own.

In case you have not seen it, I also saw his latest jigging book [...]) and I plan on taking advantage of many of his techniques this year to see if it will help us land more fish.
