Book Description

August 14, 2002
Rudy was a young boy who lived in a big city and had many friends. Some time ago, he had been asked to watch over two huge, bright, beautiful balloons. The "Twin Balloons". Rudy didn't know it, but these Twin Balloons had very special magical powers...

This book is dedicated to children of all ages who have been affected by the tragic events of September 11, 2001. And to honor the thousands of heroes born on that mournful day. That we may find comfort in the legacies they leave behind. They will be in our hearts forever. May this book serve as as loving reminder of the peaceful place they now call home.

"The concept of the story was born from an overwhelming desire to assist children of all ages struggling to come to terms with the enormity of September 11, 2001 and its effects on them personally. The balloons symbolize the World Trade Towers; and our heroes, of course, are the thousands of innocent angels born on that fateful day...those who tragically lost their lives in the planes and on the ground in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania", states author Kathy Rozek. "And to honor the man whose courage and compassion inspired a nation to stand strong. Rudy Giuliani, esteemed citizen of New York, legendary Mayor of America."

This treasure is sure to become a children's classic for parents and schools nationwide as a way to commemorate future anniversaries of this tragic event while providing an historical perspective to future generations of young children in a sensitive, thoughtful way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gentle explanation for children, September 9, 2008
This review is from: Rudy and the Magical Twin Balloons (Hardcover)
With all the press around 9/11 each anniversary, youngsters who never heard of the tragedy are introduced to it through the media, which is so scarey. This is a gentle story set with lovely, soft illustrations.
