5.0 out of 5 stars Quick Callus Results
Very secure fit on the Gripmaster. Used with the light tension (blue) Gripmaster it was painful for the first few days, but I had noticeable calluses after two weeks and now after one month, they're quite significant (I can hardly feel the keys as I type this). I use mine a lot, while driving, walking and watching TV, and they have improved my guitar playing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wrong approach (in my opinion)
First things first: the gismo itself is very fine: the pieces are sturdy (I think I even stepped on them once, amazingly w/o crushing any; probably because of the carpet, but still...). The fit is also good: they snap snugly over the gripmaster keys and don't shift around; nevertheless, when you need them off, they are easy to remove. So there's no problem with the...

I purchased this product for use with the medium and heavy gripmaster product. I keep meaning to learn guitar, and I wanted to get some calluses for when I eventually have time to learn, and this product certainly has given me those. Just a warning: for a week or so at least, this will make your fingers very tender and sore (as you're pressing down onto ridged edges) but they will eventually harden up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Builds and maintains calluses just as advertised, June 3, 2008
This review is from: Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder Caps (Standard)
I started playing guitar 3 months ago. I work in an IC fab where we must wear plastic gloves for hours on end. The constant heat/moisture inside the gloves softens any calluses quickly. I bought these for use on my blue gripmaster and have been 100% satisfied. I had good calluses after about a week and am able to maintain them with minimal daily use. I'm able to practice guitar as much as I want, (but probaly not as much as I need...). They work, they're inexpensive. Buy 'em.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do as they say, however:, October 15, 2009

I purchased the Ruff Rider callus caps for my light blue gripmaster. I'm a girl, and had little issues using the blue gripmaster without the caps on it. In my personal case, I do wish I had purchased the yellow gripmaster because I had quite a few issues getting any substantial workout with the caps on the blue one. Why? Because I have small hands and the added distance of the caps made it unrealistic to push down. So, my advice to other ladies with small or weak hands that wish to build their calluses would be to use these caps with the yellow gripmaster because you will get more reps, more callus building, and get a good workout too. Just my 2 cents!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works quickly and effectively, October 26, 2010

For the first week the only result I noticed were sore fingers. After about 10-12 days, the callus development was very noticeable and consistent. Initially the soreness of my fingertips would be the limiting factor in how long I could use the Gripmaster, but now my fingertips have strengthened up enough that I'm only limited by the muscular fatigue in fingers and forearm. I use it with a light (blue) gripmaster and wouldn't recommend anything stronger to start. I think you would also see very satisfactory results using the extra-light gripmaster.

5.0 out of 5 stars These just plain work, September 25, 2010

What else can I say? These are absolutely effective. Your fingers are a bit tender at first but it's not overly painful. After a week you'll notice a big difference. After 2 weeks you'll barely feel the guitar strings. Someone said in another comment that guitar strings will go the same thing and that's true. But with these you get the benefit of working out your fingertips throughout the day rather than only while using your guitar. A great product and I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars SRV wouldnt have needed super glue if he had these, July 30, 2009

I have played guitar for 15+ years and was of the opinion that my calluses were pretty impenetrable. I play 12 and 13 gauge strings on my electric and have no problems with my bending, vibrato, or barring. The gripmaster interested me becuase I was having trouble maintaining control on Hendrix like double bends (e.g. bending two strings and once, then releasing them seprately to their root). I ordered the gripmaster and threw these on top because they looked kinda cool. Let me tell you - these things are serious callus builders. They can get very painful (at the beggining) if you pair them with a higher tension gripmaster, but they will improve your strength and calluses very fast. For players that use the heavier strings they are awesome, kinda like a weighted bat. You get to move up to the equivalent of 15s without having to reinforce your guitar neck with grafite and steel girders. Highly reccomended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, February 9, 2009

These have given me great results with my time off guitar, my calluses grew fast. I use it with the blue grip master and keep it with me all around to work my fingers. The caps snap on secure and on the top the mimicked strings really bite into the fingers, for new hands it will hurt until the calluses get going. The more often you keep on it the faster the calluses seem to grow. Great Product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product., June 20, 2007
This review is from: Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder Caps (Standard)
I got my heavy gripmaster before I got the grip caps and thought it wouldn't do anything. I was wrong. I put the grip caps on and suddenly I can't just crush and hold the gripmaster. I am also a shooter and the gripmaster is supposed to help with trigger control too. I'm sure it helps with guitar fingering. I can hold my strings with relative ease. Now all I need is to learn to play it like a pro. I would definitely recommend this product to guitar players. It's incredible!!!!

These are excellent for guitarists. I am somewhat of a beginner and these have helped take the pain out of learing. I would recommend the caps to anyone who plays guitar.
