5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!
This little 6 shooter is excellent, what is there not to like?

Let's look at my nerf gun criteria for this gun.

1) Power, despite being such a small gun, it's got plenty of power and distance. It's spring is more powerful than the Maverick's.

2) Speed, it's auto-rotate, you can get off 6 shots as quickly as you can pull the spring back 6...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun toy, darts a little flimsy...
This is a fun toy to have...if you buy 2 guns! The darts are a little flimsy, so after several uses, it's hard to get them back in the gun because they just get squashed. Hard to cock for anyone under the age of 5. Fun toy overall.

This little 6 shooter is excellent, what is there not to like?

Let's look at my nerf gun criteria for this gun.

1) Power, despite being such a small gun, it's got plenty of power and distance. It's spring is more powerful than the Maverick's.

2) Speed, it's auto-rotate, you can get off 6 shots as quickly as you can pull the spring back 6 times.

3) Jamming - none at all. This is a simple gun and simple is good, no bells and whistles to jam your bullets in.

4) Price - lastly, it's cheap. You can buy a couple as back up for next to nothing.

Pros and cons - There are no cons that I can see. In nerf wars, you can always use an extra gun in awkward situations where you are loading or your main gun is jammed. This is a nice back up or main gun with plenty of speed, power and ease of use. A 10/10 for me.

Postscript/100 shot review:
Here are my notes after taking more than 100 shots.

Speed: It's fast to load. You don't need to pull anything out to load it, just insert 6 darts from the front.

Accuracy: Sadly, it's the only one fault I find with this gun. It tends to shoot high and not be very accurate. Only a problem when we're shooting at targets. In nerf wars, accuracy doesn't matter that much.

The children that I bought this for love it. However, I later found it locally for less than one-half of the price (six vs fourteen, and it looks like it just went up to over seventeen now). If your thinking about buying this product, it's one you should try to get locally.

I am a college student. We have a game on our campus called "Humans vs. Zombies" (it's at many campuses across the U.S.). It's a sort of moderated tag. Essentially, a group of students gets together and labels themselves with bandanas (humans around the arm, zombies around the head). At the start of the game, a player is chosen at random to be the "original zombie". All other players begin as "humans". Zombies have to tag a human (turning the human into a zombie) to "feed" every 48 hours or they starve, but humans can stun zombies for 10 minutes with a Nerf dart or a sock. This continues for a few days (outside of class) until either all zombies starve or all humans become zombies.

This game makes Nerf blasters (and look-alikes) quite popular at my campus, and as a player of the game, I purchased a couple myself, including this one (at the recommendation of my peers). This blaster is Buzz Bee's version of the Nerf Maverick. Both are six-shot revolvers, and each have their pros and cons, but overall I probably prefer this one.

This blaster loads in the front. There is no barrel to slide out. This is a HUGE advantage for Humans vs. Zombies, and makes loading and checking ammo much faster. This also has the advantage that if one dart jams, it doesn't stop you from firing the other darts before you unjam it. Although, I haven't had a single dart jam in this blaster ever, as opposed to the Maverick, where jams are uncommon if you load it well, but still not rare.

Possibly the one disadvantage of this blaster is that it can be difficult to cock. The Maverick is not. I don't have a huge problem with it, but, of course, I am college-age. Younger kids may possibly have trouble.

As far as range goes, I haven't measured, but it doesn't seem to be any better or worse than the Maverick. I haven't modded it and can't really speak for how possible modding is for this blaster.

Both the Nerf and the Buzz Bee blaster will shoot any dart of either brand without complaint. This isn't an advantage of this brand over Nerf, but it could be a good reason to buy one of these over some other style of blaster.

This seems like it will take more of a beating than the Maverick, but both seem pretty hardy, so it's hard to say. I think I'd have trouble breaking it unless I decided to hit it with a hammer or something though.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this blaster.

It is surprising accurate up to a range of 10 feet. You have to wet the "sucker" tips of the darts to make them stick. Great fun!

I purchased two of these (with the low price... who would pass up such a great deal?) for my nephew. I think my brother had just as much fun playing with it with his son as his son did. Great sturdy toy and an awesome price!

i bought this at a target store for $7 to start an office nerf war arms race. We have been using small single shot pistols, but i'm so excited bring this in the next time i work!

It reloads quickly- has good power and distance for being this small and an off-brand. i like it alot!

Our family has lots of fun playing with our "shooters." We have 2 of these and a similar Nerf one. The Nerf has much better aim, but that doesn't really matter to us when we're running around playing. Our 3 year old uses this one since she can't "cock" the Nerf one, although it's not really easy to do either. Oh well, they are tons of fun anyway!

Buy An Extra! The action is much too hard for the 8-10ish crowd to pull back = excellent built-in excuse for the adults to play with it! Foam darts go over 20 feet. The soft plastic suction tip will stick to smooth surfaces but it is more fun to bounce the darts off floors and walls for toddlers and cats to chase. Education: the toddlers did learn to retrieve so they and the cats could chase the darts again. (Bonus, saved the adults a lot of walking.) After days of rain this silly kid's dart toy provided a means of good exercise for the kids and cats and a lot of amusement for the adults. The pre-teen crowd was only briefly disappointed before going back to their video games. Buy extra darts, too.
Durability: It lasted through an entire weekend so far.
Educational: Dumb Question on this kind of toy - should not impact the overall rating.

i bought a couple of thses as a christmas presents for young boys in my family and the are rough and roudy. well they still have them to this day and they love them. they have lost a few of the darts but they still have some and it is one of their favorite toys. they love to pretend that they are cowboys and have shootouts and they like it that they can actually "shoot" each other
