A comprehensive review of a semi-comprehensive hip-hop DVD,

Sony Music's "Ruffhouse 10th Anniversary Special" DVD is a semi-comprehensive exercise in the examination of one of the longer-lasting hip-hop record labels in the music business. Many fans will appreciate the full versions of videos by Cypress Hill (when they were still ground-breaking) and The Fugees among others; on the other hand, more underground hip-hop heads looking for attention to be paid to artists such as lesser-known groups like The Goats, Larry Larr, Cheeba, Tim Dog and the like will most likely be dissapointed with all the attention paid to artists with bigger (i.e. sales) success like Kris Kross. All in all, this DVD serves a decent addition to any hip-hop fan looking for a DVD hip-hop title but will only tide one over until better selections are offered up to the public.
