Ruffin It Adjustable Dog Seabelt Leash

This adjustable dog seatbeat leash is well made. In fact, it works well to keep my dog in the back seat. Unfortunately, it cannot be disconnected from the seatbelt latch so the leash aspect is moot, and since it is permanently attached to my car it renders one of the seat belts unusable should a human want to ride back there. I've tried prying it out with a screwdriver but it appears the only way to remove it would be to break the seatbelt latch. It was advertised as "universal fit"--I own a 1999 Subaru Forester and it does not work with my seatbelt.

I bought this leash because our dog, a Golden Retriever, kept insisting she wanted to ride in the front seat, mostly in my lap! Something had to be done. This leash does it all: it has a sliding, lockable, buckle system that lets you reduce the length to only 2.5 ft for in-car use. This is perfect as it lets our dog move around a bit, but not get in the front seat. She can look out the window, which makes her happy.
Then, when we leave the car the leash easily adjusts back to 5 ft long which is plenty for this dog. The seat belt clip fits both our cars, a Chevy Equinox and a Sonata, and it hides in a folding pocket that doubles as a nice grip. The handle of the leash has a really comfortable cushioned fleece liner.
This leash is well made, really versatile and has been a life saver! (Maybe literally)
