Be patient...hoop slips are very EASILY managed!,

This a a PREFECT hoop slip! The ruffles over the bones keep them from showing under your dress (otherwise you could see the round rings underneath).Hoop slips are easy to sit in...you just need practice. If you sit down normal it WILL flop right into your face throwing the dress overhead, so it is IMPERATIVE to learn how to use the slip. First, hold the slip by the 'shoestring' lace, yes it is a only a tie on slip, they have been made like that for years! If you drop the slip straight down you will see how it slips into itself. You need to sit just like that. So back yourself up to a chair, and bend your knees down until you feel the seat. Slowly sit down. Your posture will look awesome!!! You sit with your back nice and straight. When getting up, put one foot way out in front of the other and slowly rise up moving forward. This way the hoop won't get caught up under the chair causing you to trip or tumble over the chair. It will take some practice, but trust me, I have worn a 5 and 6 bone hoop for years and have NEVER had one flop up! Alos, when you walk...Take little steps keeping your hips still, it will give the illusion of 'gliding' and will look VERY beautiful and graceful. If you move and shake your hips, your skirt will move side to side like a bell and look rediculous! Good luck and be patient! Trust me...bone slips make dresses BEAUTIFUL and envious of others since most don't know how to use one properly!!!

After looking at the previous two reviews, I felt confident that this was the hoop skirt I needed for my costume contest I have coming up in the future. I am incredibly finicky and had a lot of expectations for this hoop skirt and it delivered on all accounts! The skirt has a wonderful fullness to it, and the hoops are hidden under dresses by the ruffles sewn on top of the hoops. I certainly didn't mind the shoelace-like drawstring top, when tied properly, it doesn't fall down and cuts down on bulk beneath corsets, dresses, etc. I had no issue sitting or moving in the hoop skirt, it is very comfortable to move around in and provides a nice breeze for my legs which keeps me cool under all of those layers of fabric. Highly recommend!

Say no to hoops,

I purchased this to wear with my ball gown style wedding dress. The top of this slip is held together with what seems to be a shoelace. The top would have been better if it was elastic instead of a shoelace like draw string. I probably would not have been so turned off at the cheap shoelace thing if it cost 19.99 but it was 60 bucks! But then I thought, ok don't be too picky it is an unseen item tie a knot and lets see if it at least gives the look you want. That is where the 2 star rating comes in. It looks great under the dress and it cheered me up about the sagging sholace waist problem that is until I tried to sit down. The entire dress flew up almost over my head. You have to permanently stand because when you sit you will flash the world! I felt like I just wasted 60 bucks. If it is for a costume and you will be standing all day go for it but you probably will get a better quality slip from angels bridal shop on ebay for less money.(that is where I got my new slip elastic waist band) I got this here cause I had a gift certificate for amazon and I wish I put my free money towards something else. Don't make the same mistake. Luckily I found this horror out before the wedding day.
