This is truly a great book, which has appeal across denominational divides, the most important lessons Jones imparts to us is that God speaks to us in the mundane and routine mysticism of our everyday lives.

Rufus Jones is one of my favorite writers. He has a way of bringing God close to us. In fact realizing that god is within us.

He was a mentor and teacher to Howard Thurman; without him, would Thurman have been all that he was. Maybe, maybe not. It never ceases to amaze me how many people help each and every one of us throughout our lives.

Very well written. I think I underlined most of the book! Coming from a strong Catholic background, especially the mystics, I appreciated the author's ability to cross man made denomination lines with ease, and lead the reader to the Universal place of Presence with the Divine. Rufus truly is a spiritual master! It made me appreciate the gifts the Quakers have brought to the Christian family...especially the reminder that the divine is already present within us, and we need to awake to that fact. Since God is Good, so are we! Wow- that is the Good News!

Plus a lovely introduction, the editor puts these writings in a modern context in a way that helps the spirit of Jone's writing shine ...
