About the Actor
Verna Cox, a Maine native, has been traditional rug braiding for over 45 years. As a young person she was exposed to many crafts , but the skill she spent most of her energies on was rug braiding. In recent years, she broadened her crafting knowledge by honing her skills in rug hooking and developed techniques which enabled craftpeople to create braids around hooked centers. Verna has been the subject of articles in Woman's Day, Family Circle, Decorating Magazines, Downeast Magazine, Country Woman and has been featured in numerous news stories, talk shows on commercial TV as well as PBS.
