This is a great air rifle, very solid and powerful. Great price from Sportsman's Guide. I shot great groups right out of the box. I haven't put the scope on yet, and I might not. It shoots fine with the open sights. The trigger pull is fine the way it came, but can be adjusted. I placed a paper target 20 yards away, the target was attached to a 1" thick oak board. The pellets penetrated very deep into the board. I'm sure I won't have any problem getting rid of some squirrels with this gun. It is definately not a toy! As an avid shooter of many types of firearms, I would highly recommend this product. After all, if Ruger puts their name on it, it has to be good!

As someone mentioned, first a couple of shots were pretty loud. Afterward, it became "normal". Shoots pretty accurate when shot from 25 yards within 1" group. The scope can be better, but at least it is metal and decent enough, and quite calibratable. I did buy a better scope however. I put the target about 25 yards away on 2 layer of 1/2 plywood just in case, and the flat headed pallet did brake the surface to bury itself, but was not powerful enough to penetrate. Maybe better result with the pointed hollow point ammo, but haven't tried yet. I have no doubt killing a small vermint or squarrel is an issue with this rifle.

It looks and feels as the real thing. With the decent weight of the rifle, feels real enough especially with the slight recoil during shooting.

Like to emphasize that this is NOT a toy for small children. With a right ammo, it can hurt someone or something.

This is a good air rifle. It feels like a real rifle and shoots like a real rifle.
I have no experience with any other modern air rifle, so I can only compare it with old models. Back in the early 70s I used to be a suburban hunter with a Crossman 760 and later a Sheridan blue streak, and killed probably thousands of small game animals over the years. This rifle is much better than either of these. It's more accurate, more powerful and has a higher rate of fire. It's a killer.

I bought this gun to take care of a woodpecker and pigeon problem I've been having around my house, and it sure does the job, clean.

I was a little skeptical about the power claim of 1000 fps, but with a cheapo scope for 100 bucks whose complaining? After searching around I kept coming back to this rifle and ended up buying it. Shipping was prompt, taking only 3 days for delivery and got it sighted in with iron sights at 35 yards in about 5 shots, using Premier Lead Hollow Point Hunting Pellets. I wasnt sure if it could really hold to its claim about 1000 fps, and was proved so wrong. The first shot I fired was at 2 1/2 inch thick pieces of plywood, which is what ive been shooting all of my other bb and pellet guns at for weeks. The hollow points punched a hole right through both layers of wood and continued into my rear lot, into an oliander trunk. I thought maybe I had hit a weak point in the wood and fired again, and the same thing happened, except hit my sandrail light, whoops <shrug>. I had a couple old dart boards around and put those up in front of the wood hoping they would help, at my dismay it still went through the dart board and both layers of wood. I ended up building a pellet trap out of 1/2 inch sheet of foam - 4 sheets of leather i had laying around - and a sheet of 26 guage steel in the back, it holds them nicely with decent dings in the steel.

IT IS A VERY POWERFUL GUN AND IS NOT FOR CHILDREN, IMMATURE PEOPLE, OR INCOMPETENT PEOPLE, IT WILL KILL SOMEONE IN MY OPINION. NO JOKE

The scope is nicely made and sights easy but the mounts are made of cheap pot metal and sheer easily, the screws that come with them are aluminum and not steel or titanium so you cant torque it down, I lock-tited mine until my new scope gets here. It is crystal clear, and focuses as easily as it sights, with a clear and clear green eyepiece cover. Elevation and windage adjustment dials are flathead and have screw off caps.

I love this gun and am planning on buying another. I have expiremented with lots of different pellets and it seems to like the round nosed hollow points, more similar to the .22 lr hp projectile. They fire accurate and will kill ANY small critter, regardless. Expansion is great and they seem not to be affected by the wind.

I have had it about a month so far. Started out shooting with open sights. It was very accurate. I decided to put the scope on and give it a try. The scope slipped after the first 100 shots so I had to re -zero it.It has good power, I have seen reviews where it got 925fps on regular pellets. I suspect it might get to the claim of 1000fps with alloy pellets. That hardly ever happens. I can't believe the quality and the feel of the gun. Will probably last for decades.The scope is good for the $$$ but could be better. The Ruger is a RWS copy of the 34 model with (perhaps)a few magnum 350 parts. I understand it is manufacured by BAM in China. They have a solid reputation and put out good products. I doubt you can get a better gun for less than $150.

WOW!! I love this rifle!! It shoots like a dream!! It has a nice punch when it hits it's mark!!

This rifle is not for kids, at 40-50 yards away I'm penetrating an 1" thick plywood!!! Coyotes, crows, and gophers watch out!!!

As far as accuracy goes this rifle is on point! I'm shooting a RedHead quad rimfire target set & I'm hitting the smaller targets for 40 yards away almost everytime!! I'm very happy with my purchase!!! I'm sure you will to!

I have familial tremors, which cause slight, constant shaking of the hands, and no experience, so I doubted I could shoot very accurately with this, or any gun. After a few hundred rounds though, I am consistently hitting within an inch at 20 yards, which means the gun is more accurate than me. The sights adjust easily, are accurate, and the gun is amazingly consistent.

The scope lets me see targets clearly, and has very easy to use adjustments. However, 3 times now the scope has worked itself loose either where it mounts to the gun, or where the mounting bracket tightens to the scope itself. Several screws on the gun have also loosened and have needed to be re-tightened. It is really frustrating when you have dialed in the scope and then shots suddenly start going all over the place.

When the scope is holding position, this gun is significantly better than my expectations, If the scope didn't slip, it would definitely rate 5 stars.

This gun is awesome. Was a bit loud when it came out of the box, but quickly settled down. The sights on this gun are AMAZING. The first 3 days shooting I only used the sights and was very impressed. I don't like the scope too much, but that may be just the scope hasn't been sighted correctly. Overall I am extremely happy with this gun and hopefully it lasts me a while. Also it is extremely sturdy.

I received the rifle a day before it was scheduled to arrive. I took it out side set it up and started shooting. Once I got it zeroed into my target, each and every shot was in a very tight group. I'm so very happy that I selected this rifle.

This gun has taken out some small game with severe prejudice. Just stay away from the cheap raptor pellets and have it zeroed in first.
