I picked this up because I got tired of my Hi-Lift Jack taking up space in my two door JK. I have the Rugged Ridge XHD Rear Bumper & Tire Carrier and this thing fits without a problem. The jack has been on for around a week and it doesn't rattle around at all when the handle keeper is used on it. Also there is a hole that a padlock can be inserted in to keep your Hi-Lift on the back of your Jeep where it belongs. The powder coating matches the bumper and feels thick and durable. This item looks to provide many years of use.

Price: a bit over priced for what you get.

Design: A great place for your jack and a good start at the design. Metal plates could of been better sized and shaped to fit the stock Jeep hinges.

Quality: Although this seems like it will hold up in the weather and is nice thick powdercoated steel, the mounting holes on mine did not merry up with the hinge holes in my jeep.

Directions: poorly written photocopied directions with images that are too dark to see.

Overall: A decent mount, but poor implementation.

I've had this on my '09 JK for a few months now, no issues at all. The jack is still securely on there, and I rattle it once in a while to check. Still on there tight. I did end up using a large (175lb breaking strength) zip tie to keep the jack from rattling around, otherwise it made some annoying noises.

First I would like to say I recieved this item two days before the scheduled arrival time! (Way to go Amazon!!!) I put this mount on as soon as i got it today and this thing fits like a glove, read the instructions SEVERAL times before you start though, they a little tricky! I rate the over-all quality of this product on a 1-10 scale, a 9!! I am a little concerned about the weight being placed on the hinges though, but time will tell. If you have a hi-lift jack and want a mount outside the jeep you NEED this product!! And I have looked high and low and NO ONE can beat Amason's price and free shipping

Overall I'm pleased with the installation and look of the bracket. With the installation the pics arent very clear but the directions are accurate, I installed with the hinge covers so it was a little more difficult than without. Some clear scotch tape worked wonders for holding some of the washers in place while I installed everything, would have been nice for a side note on the directions. The only real problem I ran into was after I got everything installed and went to put my jack on I found out that my base plate for the Smittybuilt 54" trail jack is too wide to fit into the base area, so now I'm off to see if I can find a narrower base for it.

HiJack Vehicle jack holder is easy to install and a great buy ,it works vary well on a 2011 Jeep Wrangler, I am glad i made this purchases.

Update: I removed this from my vehicle due to noises, rattling and stress on the hinges of the tailgate.

Probably works fine if you have a aftermarket tire carrier, but with the stock arrangement it is a lot of extra weight.

This Jack Mount by Rugged Ridge fit my Jeep JK 2011 Rubicon perfectly.

The instructions were unclear only on the detail of when to replace the stock hinge covers.

The drilling template included in the instructions was a perfect fit an I had no problem with that step.

The trick with the installation is that when you install the bolts, spacers and washers the hinge cover goes on at the same time.

I essentially ended up holding all of the parts together in a bunch (bolts through the plate, washers on bolts, spacers + drilled out hinges) and trying to get it to attach to my Jeep.

It took patience but once I got the tabs on the hinges and the bolts to line up at the same time it was just a matter of torquing the bolts down.

Tip #1: Do not do this install while it is raining. Inside of the tailgate is exposed temporarily.

Tip #2: Remove the spare tire from the rack. The tire is in the way and it adds additional weight to the tailgate which will be vulnerable during the installation.

Tip #3: Get a pad lock. People steal hi lift jacks in my area a lot because they can be sold at swap meets to farmers and stuff, so look out for thieves. This jack has a nice clamp to keep it from rattling which includes a spot for a padlock. Use one =)
