4.0 out of 5 stars believe me March 12, 2006
Format:Audio CD
these guys are definately not in high school, they're at least in their mid twenties. i live in athens and have seen them several times. as a matter of fact, i just saw them perform a few hours ago. they are insane live, and this cd somewhat captures their full potential. but believe me, there will be more to come, and if anyone has access to flagpole.com or any other means of learning when they will be playing here or elsewhere, get out and see them dammit, you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sharks rool, emo droolz October 19, 2005
Format:Audio CD
The Sharks are not in high school, but are rock vagabonds from Athens, Georgia. This record features the uncomfortable clutch-your-office-chair production of Epi-1, and more twists and turns than a latter-period Autechre record. We Vs The Shark kick the Dismemberment Plan hard in the bum, and then transport themselves into left field in order to successfully catch Travis Morrison's head for the final out of the "World Series of Math Rock." Killer...

5.0 out of 5 stars Ruin Nothing! August 5, 2005
Format:Audio CD
This album is nothing short of incredible. It's a wonderful mix of emo, heavy, and sheer insanity. These kids are in high school, I think. What do they feed them in Atlanta?

"ten uh clock heart uh tack" is my absolute favorite. It begins slowly and builds with intricate percussion and beautifully pluck/strum guitars with just the right amounts of everything, with extremely youthful "I want so much to be with you right now" female lyrics. Then all of a sudden they bust out their microtonal and fretless guitars and wail for a few seconds, then are right back into it, then get heavy.

All the songs include wonderful songwriting and just the right amount of emotion, style, and grace. My only complaint is that I haven't seen them live.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ruin Everything! October 16, 2005
Format:Audio CD
Not only does this band have the coolest name out there, this might actually be an album of the year candidate. Oh my Garsh this is good. I'm listening to "Ten Uh Clock Heart Uh Tack" right now and it contrasts so perfectly with the first two tracks, those female vocals are just straight up tender.....
