1.0 out of 5 stars Nate Sours, Badly
"All About You" was probably the best Christian rock song a few years ago. Sure, it was hated for being to similar to a certain mainstream song, but it's still in my top 10 on my MP3 player. The follow-up? Bad. It stinks. It's bad pop. "Breakthrough" and "Lone Ranger" attempts to be good, but falls on its face and highlights as some of the worst songs of the year. I don't...

5.0 out of 5 stars Nate rocks, April 27, 2009

Ruined for Ordinary showcases Nate's vocal and musical talents, as well as the depth of his spiritual vitality and walk with God. I highly recommend this album. (There's also a companion book to the album that provides insights into each song and into Nate's personal journey from surface-level faith to being "ruined" for the shallow life. Visit natesallie.com to find out more about that.)

I was so excited when I heard about Nate's new CD! It's a different style from most of the songs on Inside Out, more mainstream, which was a little disappointing, but the lyrics are more mature, and the music has more depth, which was needed. These songs show off his talent - I wasn't aware of how talented he really is until I listened to this album. Also, this album seems to display more of Nate himself, probably largely because he wrote or co-wrote all of the songs. To sum up: different, but better in a lot of ways.

I especially like: Let Go of Me, Holy Spirit, *Look at Me Now*, Lone Ranger, and Ruined.

I pre-ordered this CD when I saw him in concert with Todd Agnew and Big Daddy Weave in March 2006. After more than a year, it was well worth the wait. Nate's voice and talent for songwriting is phenomenal. His lyrics remind us that in order to serve the Lord properly, we must let go of our currently lives, which sometimes means leaving friends behind that are bringing us down, and thoroughly commit ourselves to a life dedicated to Christ. His talent truly shines through on this release. Thanks Nate and hope to see you in concert again soon.

The CD 'Ruined For Ordinary' is excellent & done with great taste. Nate's talents more than exceed my expirations for a Christian artist. The album lifts my spirits and touches my soul. This CD is as good or better then his 'Inside Out' CD. Keep up the great work & looking forward to your next album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth it, March 25, 2007
This review is from: Ruined For Ordinary (Audio CD)
I saw nate on the Christmas hope tour with Newsong and instantly became a fan. This cd is great and if you by it from Family Christian you get a bonus cd that is also excellent. I like Nate because he is different. He is very bluesy and the lyrics really touch my soul. Love song is just unbelievable. Holy Spirit and What I believe are also great. Not a bad song on the entire cd. Well worth buying

Todd

5.0 out of 5 stars A Refreshing Sound, March 21, 2007
This review is from: Ruined For Ordinary (Audio CD)
I found Nate on ITunes and took a risk of buying his whole album to save money. I'm glad I did. His voice is a melodic blend of soul, pop, and gospel. This boy can sing. So many of his songs have such a great feel to them. My favorite song so far is "What I believe." It speaks of living in the space of really standing for the heart of faith. So many songs are just like this in quality. Holy Spirit, Love Song, Let Go of Me. It's all good.
