HOLY ****! What a way to begin 2014. I so LOVE!!~! this book. I own every single book by Jus Accardo,so she is definitively a favorite of mine. Everything else is brilliant YA!! But this story is NA and is it HOT. JAX is amazing, I love my men 6"5 with some demon in them-YUM! I enjoyed the entire premise of the story and the characters were interesting and you got into them. I really wish I could read book two tomorrow, there is so much in this story that needs to be told. Like I said this book appears to be NA, it has language(woo hoo!) and super smoking sex. So if your expecting a "tame" little paranormal. Hang onto your hats and grab some batteries, girls!

This was a good twist. I enjoyed reading this. It was a little hard for me to get into it at first but then I was all in. The only thing that bugs me is all the “F” bombs. I just never heard it as much as I read it.

Samantha is a good soul herself. She keeps Jax grounded. He has always loved her and she has always loved him. But Jax up and left one night and Sam never understood why he left. Then Jax came back because his uncle who raised Jax and his twin, Chase was dying. Samantha had tried to move on and went to school but when she was attacked on campus she came home.

Chase was also home when Jax came home. Jax’s demon in him despises Chase and has wanted Chase dead. Jax has fought his literal inner demon on it for years until one night when he is over Chase with a knife in his hand and decides he needs to leave to protect his family. You see, this demon in Jax needs to feed off fear, lust or any severe emotion or violence. And Jax is too afraid of letting it hurt Samantha either so he leaves without so much as a goodbye or note.

When Jax sees them both, he wants to leave but stays when he finds out Samantha is in danger. Then after being back and the sparks are still there between them, his demon decides he likes Sam too.
Then Jax learns of the rules of the demons when he comes back and has to fight for his life and Sam’s too.

Then all hell breaks loose as things get more complicated and Jax finds out who is inner demon really is and what he is. Now, he is running out of time to find out what demon has literal control over Sam. And then he has to figure out how to fix it. And with intimacy being a problem, due to the demon’s need for strong emotion and violence, things get more complicated and creative.

Wow! What a phenomenal start to this new series by Jus Accardo! I have heard many great things about her books. I’m so happy I got the chance to discover her talent with Ruined. This is the kind of book that pulls you in from the very first page and makes you forget about everything that surrounds you.

In Ruined we meet Jax. When people see Jax they see trouble. His reputation follows him wherever he goes. What people don’t know about Jax is that he’s hiding a secret. He has to share every single moment of his life with a demon that lives inside of him. A demon that makes him do cruel things that he can’t control. A monster that feeds on negative human emotions, that survives on the pain and misery of others. This curse has made him run away from his only family. He needs to run away from the horrible things that the demon wants him to do to his brother Chase. Three years have passed since he left town. He knows he has to stay away if he wants everybody to stay safe, but when his brother Chase calls him concerning a problem with his uncle Rick, he breaks his promise and comes back to his hometown. Once he’s back in town the last person he wanted to see was Samantha Merrick. The girl who is his everything. Samantha never forgot about Jax. He was the one that helped her survive the tragic loss of her parents. They created a bond that was unbreakable until one night, three years ago, he left her with a goodbye kiss that she still can’t forget. After suffering an attack at school, she decides to go back home. The last person she expected to see after a long absence was Jax who she’s been trying to forget without much success. Once they meet again, they can’t seem to stay away from each other. Jax wants her to run away from him and she wants nothing more than to hang around him.

Jus has created an awesome storyline and amazing (I mean hawt!) characters that I have fallen completely in love with! As I expected, I was done for after the first chapter and sucked into the world of Cain & Abel.
An awesome storyline….

The descendents of Cain & Abel. This makes for an exciting read! Jus kept me on my toes trying to figure out the who done it! It was intriguing the way that she had incoorporated the “demons” into the story.
I do not care if Jax has a demon….

I really want a Jax for myself! I really felt for this character and all that he has to deal with on a daily basis just to keep his “inner demon” in check! The two brothers, Jax and Chase, were different in so many ways and yet alike in so many other. While Jax is willing to lose everything for the ones he loves, Chase just seemed very selfish to me by trying to hold on and not willing to fight. But, on the other hand, they both were very sorrowful for the things that they had to do in order to stay alive and sane!
Samantha is a fighter…..

OMG! I loved her! She was snarky at times, and full of sass! Jax had no idea of what to do with her sometimes because she pushed all of his buttons with a single look. She knew that she was playing with fire, but she was tired of sitting around and hoping/wanting. So, at times, she took matters into her own hands!
The ending was sad for me:(

That ending! Grrr! Jus! You dropped a bomb just when I thought that things were going to be okay with Jax and Sam! I sat and re-read that last few paragraphs over again and insisted that I was missing something cuz that could not possibly be correct???
In Conclusion….

Jus is always on my radar! Any book that she writes, I HAVE to read!
