It's pretty quiet too.

The old one lasted 6 years, which I think is good for salt water operations. if this fails any time soon I will change my opinion but it seems to be a solid performer.
Keith R
I replaced the old pump with this and I like the strength this one has as compared to the old one.

I am using this to pump collected rain water. The pump is pretty small for the impressive output it has. I have a submersable 120 volt pump that does not deliver like this little one does. I'll most likely get another one.

Well built pump that has the highest pumping capacity for 3/4" hose. Quiet reliable and durable, it sits in the bottom of the boat for weeks until its called on to keep you afloat, and it does every time. I left the manual override switch on one time and it ran dry for hours and hours and did not get damaged.

This Rule 20R bilge pump is a great little pump. This is the second one I have owned. The first lasted 8 years. I
had a gas line leak and the first pump sat in gasoline for long enough to soften the plastic. These pumps are quiet and very efficent.

Items were the same as the ones that were originally on the boat. I purchased them as back up on my Hunter 28 so that it would be easy to change out if one failed.

Part design was a direct snap in replacement to the existing pump. I recommend that you check the switch as well. a stuck switch is what made my existing pump go bad. Unfortunately the mercury switch is no longer available, but I did find a switch from another company that received good reviews as compared to the reviews for the replacement Rule float switch.

Used as a feed pump for warm water.... its been flawless after a few months... just be sure if you run a hose off the feed, lots of losses from the friction of the hose...so don't be fooled by GPH rating of the pump itself This pump, with a 3/4" 20 ft hose, generates 180 GPH, so 80% loss from the friction load the hose imposes, and the hose is about equal level....if you run the hose up, count on seven more significant losses. So its always better to oversize for your application, as its easy to throttle back with a valve if need be.
Sure would be nice if the maker would provide a significantly longer elect. cord to keep the connections far from the water source. How much do they save, a nickel?? hard to fathom the thought process.... hence why I took a star away. I had to jury rig a water tight elect. connection, which is never fail safe.
