a fine story about Jim Irwin's interesting life., December 30, 2005
This review is from: To Rule the Night: The Discovery Voyage of Astronaut Jim Irwin (Hardcover)
The chapters about the Apollo 15 mission ( and the LTA-8 tests ) are terrific and factually correct ( unlike so many newer books on Apollo ). On the personal side, both Irwin and Worden were on the verge of divorces during their training, and Worden did divorce. It is easy to see how the constant training and travel could and did lead to the breakup of so many astronaut marriages.

Religious pontification, October 31, 2005
This review is from: To Rule the Night: The Discovery Voyage of Astronaut Jim Irwin (Hardcover)
Are you a space geek? Don't buy this book. Are you hyper-religious? You'll love it.
I wanted an insider's perspective on space travel. Not a sermon about how Jesus is the engineer of the space program and everything inbetween.
