Biography

Gomez got his start at age 15 performing in the local bars around his hometown of Taos, NM where he played originals and covered songs of his musical heroes including Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy and John Prine. Great talent and I love his song writing and voice. He's also one of few artists who is better live.

Rule the World is a very strong debut effort by this young singer/songwriter from Taos, NM. The offerings in this, his first album, range from original folk ballads and light country to a traditional blues version of "Ball and Chain." There is not bad track in the bunch. The fact that he has been able to align himself at such a young age with a major label and experienced management team is testimony to his raw talent. I stongly recommend this album and believe that we will hear much more from this artist in the coming years.

I had the pleasure to see Max in person recently. I love his voice and lyrics. He is a very talented young man destined to become a big star in the music world. Every single song on the album is good, and every person I have turned on to Max loves him.

In Minneapolis of June 2013, I was blown away when I experienced the beyond-amazing singing and songwriting by Max Gomez; as he was the opening act for the ultimate female singer/songwriter, Patty Griffin. Max is currently opening for Patty during her "American Kid" Tour. Keep in mind, when Max performed on stage it was just Max and his 2 guitars, nothing more. No glitz. No glam. Just phenomenal talent.

You deserve to know that Max provides the true essentials of creating enduring music that will be loved my the masses for decades to come, that of... great vocals and original songwriting at its' finest -- that's catchy yet very creative at the same time. To me, I feel like I have personally discovered "greatness" and as a fellow fan of this caliber of talent, I am compelled to write this review for YOU... with hope you too will experience the greatness of Max Gomez.

Max is an exceptionally talented young Americana songwriter. He has the insight of an old soul, and a mature, soulful voice. I happened to catch him at a festival, and he immediately captured the audience' attention. Everyone stopped visiting and LISTENED to him. While I liked the CD he made himself, and sold out of his back pack EVEN BETTER than I like the professionally rendered CD, this is an excellent work. If you like folk /Americana, you will be hearing a lot more from Max.

I learned Max is going to be at the Bugle Boy in La Grange (a Listening Room) and thought I'd check out his music, since I volunteer there. What a find. A lovey album, and songs you will recognize that are getting regular airplay. If you like Paul Simon, Amos Lee, James Taylor, you'll love Max Gomez.

I absolutely LOVE Max Gomez. I saw him before in Taos and he really impressed me. He has such a strong soul full voice that keeps his albums on repeat for me. I am so excited for him and hope he sticks around. His renditions of some classic songs bring a new meaning to each song I love.
